Were you talking about the Maelstrom G5 in your comments about comparison that I have quoted below ? Thanks Bruce
Yes I was talking about the Maelstrom G5 for the spill and throw comparison. I use an Eagletac 18650 in my G5 but have some cr123a's in a surefire cr123a caddy for backup. Sorry to confuse you with the Fenix LD41 comparison comment.
The direct comparison really helps. Is the difference big enough to make the G5 irrelevant ? Also, when the EA4 steps down, is it still brighter than the G5 on turbo ? Sorry to pester, but your answers will make the difference in whether I buy or not.
Glenn, You are so right!! I look so forward to getting on here and being part of such a great group of guys and gals!! Everyone is very helpful and willing to go the extra mile to help another member out!!!
I have both and the EA4 wins hands down. Spill throw this thing has it all. The PA40s low is the only advantage it has going for it against this little beast.
This is one of the few non-maglites I have seen that I actually think I would like. Oh well, hopefully someone will clone it soon and lower the price to about $25.
Really nice looking and pumps out the light, for 4AA. Anyone know what kind of amp draw it does? or has anyone tested OTF lumens?
The thread fizzled before my questions got answered.

Your new years first up build is to build this flashlight so that dummys like me can learn how the aa batteries work in whatever configuration and how to make the switch work with what ever driver you deem that will make it all work. No pressure, you are the nMh king. Thanks in advance.
I see my EA4 is on the truck for delivery today. If I knew it was coming I would have done a complete analysis and break in for my XXXEneloops, but that takes two days.
