Might want to post this offer in flashlight general info or deal alerts to gain some new interest. I am still willing to give one a try although somewhat skeptical on why they are still claiming 350 lms on there site and alot of questions asked went on answered.
that being a flood-to-throw, it is ipx-8 waterproof. i also doubt that it is 860 lumens, and i hope it is not just 350 with a xm-l. very interesting though.
The Yezl arrived today. I will reserve comments and judgement on output until it gets dark. I measure 2.21 amps at the tail cap on a 4.12V trustfire flame 2400. I measured a UF manafont XM-L 3 mode dropin with the same battery @ 3.21A. That dropin measure is pretty much in the known zone so I think the Yezl measurement is fairly accurate. Quality of the body is nothing special at all. The tailcap bezel is crenelated and the cuts are really rough with a bunch of burrs. The knurling by the head is square and seems kind if cheap. The knurling on the tailcap is ok, a diamond pattern and flat. The rear body threads are really short. The tailcap is threaded to accept twice as many threads from the body. They secure the tailcap just fine though so nothing to worry about really. Threads came lubed but really dirty and gritty. Had to be cleaned and relubed.
Ill post tonight with how things went in the dark.
Tested out the Yezl tonight. I have never, really, been less impressed with a flashlight. This thing is so unimpressive. It does nothing well at all, The spot is really big and gets its ass kicked by my sipik cK361 Q3. I put the spot on a tree 70 yards away and then put the sipik spot on there and it is twice as bright to the eye. For flood it sucks too. A p60 XM-L blows its doors off. This light sucks. No review needed, i wouldnt even waste the time. I think that what I got was a $30 XM-L to upgrade my romisen.
these beam shots by moviles2 are accurate and show the whole crappy story. http://www.forolinternas.com/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=1942
Its not completely usless, it does shine light. Your going to get that now and then. I have been very lucky with lights so far, so to get a dog like this every now and again is just part of the game.
Yesterday I've tried UltraOK zoomie to become a XM-L light. Only partly succeded. I've used 1.4A driver but got only 1.05A at tail. Nevertheless, stock optics isn't good. With some spacers I've managed to get good projection, but it was far less bright. After some reports about Yelz t8 this was expected. I've tried to put 28 and 30mm lenses in front by hand and it gets little better, so I thought even bigger lens would be needed. 38mm might be right dimension for further examinations.
Anyone knows where to get budget 38mm aspheric lenses with zero or minimal shipping costs to EU?
I got mine today. Was initially unimpressed , then I realised it had modes. high- med- low. no strobe. It isn't a C8 but it is zoomable light. You don't seem to get the tight hotspot where you can cleary see the led. Overall it is well made. Looks bright to me but I haven't tried it outside. I my recent Romisen purchase already has a snapped o ring and a faulty tail cap after a few uses so this appears to be better made.
Hi Ric I was also wondering about the N-Light L2 can you tell me the diameter of the torch as well as the switch type. I purchased a Yezl Z1 from you and I really like the L2 so I wanted to know the size to compare it to the Yezl before I buy it.
