Great lights, kind of lousy anodization. My G25C2 MkII works great, but just from being my pockets, looks like it's been to a war zone.

Does anybody recommend what the cheapest fitting 3400mAh 18650 would be for the C2 here?

Are you sure the Fasttecs work? I just know they are extra big so comparing this information to some other thread where I read that extra long ones don’t fit in the TX makes me uncertain about them.

The unprotected ones will work. Protected ones probably not.

Forgive me if I’m just misinformed but aren’t the unprotected NCRs too flat?

My situation is that I want the TX25C2 and have 3x unprotected 3100 mAh. They are not really raised top from how I see that so I don’t assume they would fit in the new purchased light because it has this stupid plastic ring that prevents anything under 7mm (or something like that) to make contact. The unproteced NCRs are not protruding, they are maybe not true flat tops but there is no “button” on them so I’m just sceptical about them working.

I want to figure out what batteries will fit not to have a bad surprise later.

If anybody can confirm from experience that the unprotected NCRs (I guess the structure of the 3100 and the 3400 shold be the same for the unprotected ones, right?) work in the TX that would be great. I wouldn’t have to bother getting new cells after all then and can just order the light right away, start selling my SC600.

If the flattop can't make contact, you can put a couple of drops of solder on the contact, or use a magnet spacer. Personally I just use a spacer in that situation, but you have to be careful to make sure the magnet doesn't slip, and touch the wall... if it does... well you're out of a light (or in my case laser :p).

I don’t really want to solder or use a magnet, rather buy a fitting battery but want it to be 3400mAh and cheap, not an easy choice!
I have 4x 3400 Keeppower coming in in a week for another light, if they fit I can order one more pair.

Well, I know for a fact the Eagletac 3400 batteries fit in this light but that shouldn’t be much of a surprise (Not at all cheap either). I currently have a Xtar 2600 which seems to be about the same size as the 3400s in the light today. The Xtars aren’t terribly expensive, cheaper than the Eagletacs anyways.

Why are you looking at only 3400 batteries. Is there something I should know about, or don’t 3100s give you enough runtime and supply enough current? Just curious because I own this light and I’m wondering if I should just run my ET battery or if all of the other button tops I have will work for just a marginally smaller amount of time.

Just curious as to the hangup on 3400s. I know they are the latest and greatest but 3100s seem pretty nice as well.

will a droplet of solder hold firmly on the (+)pole of the 18650, here Eagletac? sounds like dry joint (cold joint) to me! :P

Droplet of solder and very small piece of aluminum on top of it will work just fine.

Personally I use a magnet (if needed), but I do have batteries, that have the "top button" soldered on. I'll take a picture for you, if you're interested.

I got in one of the new TX25C2 this past week. It’s the XM-L2 U2 version. It’s very small and VERY powerful for its size. And as with most ET, it came with a nice little pouch case. The interface is very nice I think. The only slight improvement I could ask for is possible a little detent or audible click letting you know if its in low or medium. High is obvious since its in the tighten mode.
I was also happy to see my Keeppower 3400mah protected cells fit just fine. They are button tops and slightly taller than the specs say will work. But it has full and proper modes with them.
I’ve also tested it in my lightbox for output and with my meter for throw. As with my usually experience with Eagletacs, its numbers were even higher than the factory specs.
I got 1095 lumens at 30sec and got a throw reading of 21.9kcd. I did see Eagletac takes their readings at 2 min. though. And as a note, my numbers were pretty steady at about 15 seconds, with a very slow drop after after that.
I was recently in Big Bend National Park. It’s a very dark area. We were doing beamshots with the bigger lights at 300 meters. I brought my TX25C2 or EDC duty. I didn’t take shots of it, but this little guy actually hit those 300m targets. Perhaps only .15-.2L, but you could see the boulders illuminate none the less. So 200m illumination should be a piece of cake in most locations. And it also offered very nice flood all things considered.
Anyway, this awesome little light has positioned itself along side my favorite lights for certain.

How is the tint?

I am planning to get one too, XM-L2 CW. selfbuilt measured ~1000 lumens!! amazing output. Such a compact light omg.

Since it hasn't been properly introduced on our forum and I enjoy Eagletac flashlights and accessories so much, no doubt my most admired flashlight company, I would also review it for us in typical kreisl expansive style. Will make an interesting comparison to my older T20C2 MkII light, D25-series lights, Tiny Monster TM15, and other powerful lights on Li-Ion battery!

I like its tint. To my eyes its a nice pure white color. Not blue-ish like some of my throwers have and not the yellow tint like my dedomed lights have. If I’d have to guess, I’d say somewhere in the 5500K range, though I’m far from being well versed in tints.
If I remember correctly, I think Selfbuilt tested a NW version? Anyway, regardless of CW or NW, these little beasts of a light have awesome output for a very small light.
If you would like to see wall beamshots of it vs any other light I or my brother owns, for tint comparisons, I’ll see what I can do for you. I’ve got some graphs posted up in some of my recent threads for other lights we own.

Awesome! I was planning to buy it for some weeks now but I couldn’t find out anywhere if my Keeppowers would fit in it. Gonna order it next month then and sell my SC600.
