[GB-Closed!] Supfire m6 triple - CLOSED!

@pulsar
could you confirm about the chinese letter on the light?i prefer there is none since i don’t understand it.
and since it will shipped with CN post i hope they handle it with care,i’ve seen a video how they treat a package really bad by throwing them and such :frowning:

In order to answer all these questions about current, driver size, heatsinking, fit and finish, durability, quality, and ultimately a comparison against the SRK, I strongly vouch for the’s review.

If DHL does its job well, we might get the light in the’s hands within a week, and meanwhile we can be processing the PP payments. Just my idea.

Thank you the very much for volunteering to review the light!

Thanks for the answers about the SRK vs. M6 potential brightness.

It looks like the SRK is definitely all over the board for current draw. Here the reviewer got 7.5A whereas in this thread they measured between 6.63A and 5.35A. So I guess it’s hard to predict how bright this new M6 will be in comparison. Like markito said a few posts above, I also wouldn’t mod this if I bought it, so out the box brightness is all I would get.

It appears that the SRK can be used with less than 4 batteries if desired (because they are in a parallel circuit). So the same goes for the M6, correct?

Another question: How much parasitic drain would the M6 pull on the switch when turned off, and is lockout possible?

I guess that the parasitic drain would depend on their design, but the pics on their website seem to show that the body threads are anodized, with no ano on the front. I think that that would mean lockout would work by loosening the battery tube/body a bit, right?

Yes, correct. Should be possible.

A proper test/review would give definitive answers to these questions.. ;)

Right.

Thanks. I guess that I’m learning, eh :)!

If each LED was getting 2.5A as claimed, that would mean somewhere between 5.0-7.5A current draw from the cells, considering that the driver is a proper buck driver with a decent efficiency. 2.5A to each LED would be ideal, but as seen with the SRK’s, there can be a lot of variability from revision to revision or manufacturers.
I’m assuming that all the 50 or so of the M6’s will be from the same batch, so a proper current measurement probably will be consistent with other M6’s that we receive.

I was able to run my SRK with 4, 3, 2, and with careful battery positioning, 1 18650 cell, and the battery holder for this M6 looks basically the same, so I believe so.

I measured my parasitic drain to be about 1.5mW, but that’s not a current I was comfortable with so I locked it out by turning it about 30 degrees, for the threads were anodized. Judging from the pictures of the M6, I also think the threads are anodized and thus allow the light to be locked out.

I’m willing to chip in to cover the DHL fees for the’s review.

If Supfire could cover that, it would be a strong cornerstone towards building their brand image.

Edit: You guys beat me to it! :stuck_out_tongue:

OK, for $33 shipped with tracking I’m in for one (1). Although if the majority prefer to wait for _the_’s review I don’t have a problem with waiting.

Thanks Pulsar for organizing this! Looks like a good one.

I would prefer to wait for the's review, but I'm in either way.

I’m neutral on the “wait for review” or “shut up and take my money” vote.

oops forgot that
anyone can confirm if this light can fit 69mm cells?

Since no one has this light, nothing has been confirmed. Heck, I barely trust what the sales rep has told us so far.

To be honest, so am I.

It all depends on the manufacturer and their ability to make (late) fixes / changes based on our feedback:
- defects found in review & manufacturer makes no fixes => failed GB, everyone unhappy, including the manufacturer
- defects found in review & manufacturer fixes the defects => everyone happy (except that it takes time -> some people are annoyed)
- no defects found in review & no fixes needed => delay, some people annoyed

Just tested with my SRK and 70mm cells do work just fine.

There’s a high chance that this light will be fine as well.

ok i will try to get all these answered in one:

they claim driver size is 50mm, but also the battery tube 50mm, so i dont see how the driver can be also.

paypal will go directly to them. i wouldnt expect anyone to trust me with this kind of money

the chinese text can not be removed. that would be considered a custom run and they do not typically do that for orders under 1,000 pieces

at this point we seem about 50/50 on wait for review vs shut up and take my money.

whew. think i got it all...?

im not so sure they are going to make late fixes or changes depending on the review to be honest. and i am also not sure they really are positive of the dimensions and specs. but either way i am in for one unless the GB falls through

Another scenario;

-No review defects found as people receive their lights. Can, worms, open.

For $33 I'm willing to take the risk, but if it's a matter of waiting a week or two, I'd rather wait.

I'll cheap in a bit for DHL if needed, pm me your paypal.

the plan was to offer _the_ to pay his $33 as agreed by the group buy, and for the review they upgrade for free to DHL. not sure if they will agree or not

it is what it is but I still find this request from them a bit silly, since laser engraving is one of the last if not the last phase of manufacturing only thing after that is final quality control (if there is any) and packaging, they could just skip engraving step, light without any inscription is better then light with inscription that I don’t understand.
But, as I said, it is what it is, can’t force them, one day they will realise/learn by themselves…
