When you want to kick the mail carriers a for leaving a Delivery Notice in the mailbox and driving off with your package while you stand in the middle of the road waving the notice at him 200 yds away. And the light in the package isn’t even yours.
(I was walking down our lane to check the mail when he was at our box, as I walked down he drove to the next neighbors and actually drove up his driveway with a delivery. I got nothing but a slip of paper saying “Sorry We Missed You” and he was still in plain sight, had just come out of the neighbors drive and stopped at the next box, never saw me out in the middle of the road behind him waving my arms and cussing him for the scurvy dawg that he is! Checking the tracking number, it says that he tried delivering it yesterday! And today left a notice! I was here! I was walking to that stupid box 300 yds down our lane 4 times yesterday! You can bet your sweet ar*e I called on him! Our regular carrier is out, someone else is sucking big time.)
Yes, when your light is as bright as your eyes like, streetlights and headlights may still be annoying, so, if you double the lumens again and put on sun glasses, you will have more control of the lighting. It is also another chance to adjust the tint, as orangy sunglasses are available. Or the place where you are testing may not have enough space.
You’ve dedicated the past month to everything flashlights. I’ve read so much here, and learned so much, that I think any specification for any led cannot fool me.
Also, I’ve had no problem keeping up with the new posts on this site.
Also, I can identify almost every flashlight found at fasttech…I just need more money to start buying them.
Which Cree XM-L2 emitter de-domes with the most Neutral tint?
What is the maximum amperage a Cree XM-L2 is likely to see on 1 cell?
How many lumens can be expected of a hard driven MT-G2?
Which 18650 delivers the most current?
What is Richards middle name?
I have XM-L2 U2 1A doing 6.31A through a Efest 35A in a Convoy C8 and using the BLF17DD FET driver. The 20R does 6.15A in that light.
The Luminus SST-90 can pull 15.67A from a single Sony C4 cell. Through the BLF17DD driver. In a Convoy C8 with a half pound copper pill. A 20R does 15.52A in that light.
Connected in direct drive on a test bench to an XM-L2 mounted on copper the Sony C4 can do 7.18A, the 20R 7.03A, the Efest 35A 7.04A, and the Samsung 25R 6.71A.
Richard’s middle name is “Halleluja! My stuff is here!”
So now you need to order an M6 from Richard, with his mod kit, and build that light up with some T6 3C’s on Noctigon and be amazed… pick from the above listed cells for Awe inspiring output.
I bout missed the meeting cause the alley was all lit up, got used to it being dark and getting to pick a light…
I re-flow the copper star when I have a copper or brass pill, use Arctic Alumina Thermal Adhesive if a light is particularly finnicky about placement but usually use Arctic Alumina Thermal Compound so the star can shift and allow proper lens alignment. When using adhesive I like to press it in place with the actual reflector and lens/bezel assembly, only connecting it after everything sets up. This works to make sure placement and thickness are optimized for perfect centering and focus.
Got lucky with the MT-G2 going into the Sinner Ti light, when I got the little S6 reflector fitted to the big emitter everything fell in place perfectly, and the glass lens from an S6 also fit like it was made to order. Sometimes the luck runs that way, sometimes it’s more like a lady…
When the lights goes out and the first thing you seek is the DMM to check which cell is not at storage voltage… Usually happens when you own so many lights, you keep them without batteries instead.
