okay, warm white tube all wired and ready to connect, finishing the cool white tube tonight. more stuff goes in this one. so more to do pondering how I want to attach them together. for now I might use zipties… as the hose clamps I wanted to use are too short… gotta get 2 small ones to make em just a bit longer
then may have to lengthen the power wire as well… eventually I might use a hobby lipo pack. but for now. external 4500mah 12 volt gel cell
They make super long zip ties for hvac ducting.
I was gonna suggest those HVAC zip ties, you can get a bag of 10 for <$2 at harbor freight.
next time I’m at harbor freight I’ll get some.
posted finished videos and some photos… its more a flooder than thrower… so its good for lighting up a close area… not really long distances…
Its my browser foult or videos cant display they show “private ” apart from that nice work
try again. I didnt have them set to the right permissions
Yay, it works!
yup. its not as good as your light but it works… I should have bought a 100 watt led and a driver… maybe I’ll make another one with a 100 watt led and driver in it…
this one is good for ceiling bounce during a power outage.
Nice videos. Love the looks of the light in the second video! Well done!
thanks sir
Well done firehopper. I hope you dont. Nice effort on the finish and thanks for the vids. I hope your light never has to get used in an emergency.
thank you i hope not too. but I know the power grid in this area. a good thunderstorm/windstorm and its almost 100% likely to fail. sometimes for as much as a week…
bump :>
Sweetness. I haven't been here for long time. Love the active cooling solution. I haven't read all your posts, so please excuse me if you already covered this question. Have you thought about cutting/grinding the corners off the fans and putting them in the tubes?
I did, but maybe thats an improvement for later.
adding a bump
Turned out great, pretty nice.
not bad not exactly what I had in mind but pretty close
Good and useful build, well done. This light with the active cooling should be able to handle 50W or more. And +1 on the fan inside the body :-) , the construction is built nice enough to do that.
