GB for the "discontinued" Olight O'pen

If you want to share the code in another forum, I think it would be OK, since only 36 lights ended up being sold.

Second UpdateIt appears that the lights will come in anyhow, so shipping should not be a problem, for anyone purchasing.

I received a lengthy note about the whole thing. I do believe and have believed that some of it is poor translations and a big difference in beliefs, standards and operating practices. I have to say that during my life, I have pretty much always been a my way or the highway kind of person and never a team player. Been that way for as long as I can remember, so working with things like this, just don't go well, because I don't tend to accept anything other than what I think is right. Don't plan to change that any time soon, so don' expect me to ever mellow. Maybe once I'm dead, I might start to mellow out.

Anyhow, it looks like y'all should get your lights no problem and I bet they will ship as quickly as they can right about now.

UPDATE!  Do you remember when I went postal about dealers lying and everyone thought I was too extreme?

Do you want to hear the latest?   Bella had sent me an e-mail giving the code and she said to start it "tomorrow". OK, so I get it after 01:00, so is that tomorrow?  So, I go ahead and try the code and it works fine. Well, OK! I post it.

So now I get an e-mail from Dora and it says this "Oh, I missed your former email this morning about the code posting

What I worried that is Olight notice our gb for the low price, and they won't deliver the rest stock to us

But it is said that the rest stock will be arrived at our warehouse tomorrow, let's wait and see!"

NOW, am I CRAZY or was the truth hidden from me to begin with?? Why not say Olight does not want the lights sold for the discounted price? Why wait Once Again, for the MAP Police!!!  Why??????

HUH?  and people were so upset when I told them these dealers were dishonest, deceitful people, (ALL of Them), and held information back from us. Why not state up front about this when I asked before hand, in the very first e-mail. "or will Olight come back on you because of MAP?"  I asked before and she didn't say a word till I posted the code "too soon"?

SO, some of you may not get your lights, if Olight did not send the stock and I am in the middle again. I should have known, I should have listened to myself, but I didn't. My apologies. These people just don't have any concern for anything except the dollar, no unless, like in some other countries, lying is something that is tradition and something to be proud of.

Group Buy is Open.

The code is: OPEN   Yes, the code is "OPEN"

Do NOT order the BLACK. They do NOT have any and they will update their website soon.

Remember there are only 27 RED, so please try to let the guys who wanted red to begin with, get their orders.

Other than that, the code works. I tried it already.

From what I see, tracking is still $1.99

LINK TO RED

LINK TO BROWN

LINK TO BLUE

I found out that Olight is not going to produce any more O'pen lights and the stock they have is limited. I was wondering if there was enough interest in the other colors, (Red, Blue, Brown), to get 50 orders. If so, Gearbest would do them for a good price.

The price, if we get 50 or more is $26.99.

I just really like the O'pen and as one who still carries pens and lights in my shirt pocket, I thought maybe some others would like one, before they are gone.

No Black,  10-27-14 Update There are NO black O'pens and gearbest will change their web page. None, zip, zero, nada.

just a very few Red, (less than 30 pieces),

plenty of Brown

and Blue, (over 100 each).

So, I need to see if there is enough interest to hit 50 pieces on this. If so, it should be a good deal, if not, well at least I tried.

YES!

Would be in for a blue one (or a red or brown one but blue preferred).
Had my eye on it for some time but it always was a bit too expensive.
Depending on the currency conversion on the time of buying 28 or under would be under my tax free import limit so that would make it impossible to resist

I already have the black but would like the red too. Put me down for a red one. Good price.

Does that mean that the Four Sevens version is vanishing too? I run mine on Energizer Ultimate Lithiums but suspect that the light was not enough of a success due to people trying to run it on AAA alkaline batteries which just do not have the current capability to run it at maximum. The light curve in the original review of it indicated that operation with alkaline batteries was not very good. The light curve on maximum was a line almost straight down. IIRC the original review was of the Four Sevens version of it but the listed specs were identical.

It’s too bad these didn’t come with a high-CRI neutral or warm white emitter. That was the main reason I didn’t buy any already. I wanted to give one to my doctor, but the cool white tint wouldn’t be very useful to him. It looks like Olight got everything else about these “just right”.

Maybe a minor consideration for most people but the Olight O’pen is one of the few penlights which actually looks like a pen when in the pocket. With the tapered reflector and LED end it still does so at a glance when held in the hand too. Wish Olight had offered it as a set with a identical top 75% of the length appearing ballpoint or roller ball style pen and possibly a mechanical pencil. Someone should offer such a set IMO.

Unfortunately, I’m not interested in this GB, but I definitely like your approach much more than all the secret PMs. I know up front whether to bother or not and you don’t have to deal with a million PMs.

Well, I was gonna get one of these, but a couple things happened that kinda makes it poor timing for me. I thought about giving one to my daughter, but my wife just bought her a cheapie flashlight/laser pointer/stylus that is blue and looks a little similar to this, so it would be almost redundant. I also thought I wanted it myself, but now the BLF Edition Eagle Eye X6 GB is taking off, so I’m out on getting it for me. My wife said I could get one for her, until she heard about the expected price. I have no-one else at my household to buy one for. Sad

Bottom line: Sorry, OL, I’m gonna have to withdraw. :_( :_( :_( .

Just out of curiosity, do you know if the bezel can be easily removed for an led swap, or is it heavily glued?

Thank you.

I would like a blue or brown (bronze?) one.

My wife has a blue 4Sevens and really likes it. Having a second would be a good thing.
