1. If you are going to use current regulation, that means that you can achieve an extremely low low mode without flickering PWM problems. Could you please make the lowest mode about 0.2 lumens?
2. Pocket clip please! Even if it's a removable snap-on clip it would still be nice. I suspect that at least 70% of us here would really like a clip.
Hopefully Ric will eliminate the root of the problem. "Current regulation" is a different way of changing brightness that doesn't involve PWM at all, so there won't be any frequency.
Ric knows his stuff and I trust him to give us a good light. I only hope AA performance is good with it. Some lights with good 14500 performance stink with an AA cell.
aww darn.. you're not including mode memory and it starts on low. Looks like I'm in the minority and I especially would want it on a AA light (can do without it on AAA). I'll pass. Thanks for the offer.
Nothing wrong with PWM regulation, all thats needed to keep me happy is a frequency above 0.5Khz, and a well regulated flat output current across a wide voltage range. NON-PWM, TRUE current regulation is not something that I really need, infact I don't like the green tint shift on low with true current regulation. I understand that almost all well regulated torches are not even true current regulators, just a well regulated PWM driver.
Okay, since you're doing revisions is there any way you could change the mode order to M>H>L>(UL?) if you're planning to exclude mode memory? That would be more of a compromise for everyone, imo. Also, 14500 support is definitely needed and I would certainly aim for that R5.
I hate to say this about any vendor …it sounds like you know what you’re doing …it also sounds like the box is a waste of time for most people …offer it as an option for a buck or two extra and spend the extra money on the light .point is not to chaet the light let the price fall where it needs to be and make the product able to deliver .
I agree with the xpg r5/r4 emitter .. your choices of tints have been very good . continue it and these will be a success
