Correct, the “simulated” SS is actually a Cu X6. They goofed and made a sample out of the wrong material is my understanding. So I recreated the copper light in 14500 size, carefully sizing it by the width of the battery tube and overall length as befits a 14500 cell, then “silvered” the original for the SS image. In actuality, the SS variant doesn’t have as deep a knurling as the metal is much harder, but is still exactly the same other than that.
Wanted to get a look out there as to what the copper light is looking like. I’m to understand also that they are looking at a TIR for the K6 to keep throw to a maximum with the FET+1 driver.
They have corrected the error of their ways and are rapidly making Al samples of the pair. This is what I’m told, more news as it comes in. Communications are getting wonky with so much going on, so some of the questions and answers have been having delays. Perhaps someone in China needs sleep….
BLF or not....someone needs to tell CPF to get on this wagon. We and they all know for a fact that they cannot get hosts for this kind of dough and this style has never been made out of SS or Cu.
I posted this message at CPF about the BLF-348 group buy that BLF member _the_ is putting together. Got not a single reply. The only response you will find there is a bump from me!
Perhaps the BLF X6-SE v2, the BLF Manker A6, or the BLF LuckySun D80-SE would be more enticing.
Nope, we don’t have any suitable boost drivers. However, you could get or make a boost driver and swap it out.
With an AA battery, the light won’t even turn on. That’s not enough voltage to power up the driver, much less the LED.
With a 14500 cell, it should be able to pump out as much light as the cell can handle. I’m not sure how much this will be, but I’d guess about 1000 lumens with a decent cell.
I’ve been busy as of late, and have not seen this thread before. Please Krono, put me down for 1 SS/Cu set in NW and 1 Al set in NW. That little copper K6 looks sooooo bitchen!! Wouldn’t mind getting a few more of those little gems if they were sold individually.
