*3/13 Update the Review is in!* G700 "Chip In Fund"

I like that idea! The problem is going to be shipping and if people want ā€œcompensationā€ for doing the review or not. Iā€™d love to see a dozen reviews on the light from users on BLF, but everyone is going to have to agree to pay their own shipping to the next person on the list.

Within the US, shipping shouldnā€™t be an issue. I wouldnā€™t mind spending a few dollars to ship a light along after a brief review if it helps get word out on the street to warn potential buyers away.

Once itā€™s been through the channels here, maybe the light could be shipped to a European POC who could then start the process overseas.

Unfortunately, the widespread marketing of this scam is workingā€¦ I work with several uninitiated flashaholics who have asked me about this light, based on the Ads they are seeing online. Iā€™ve pointed several of them to this forum, and showed them the actual light that is being advertised. Fortunately, Iā€™m not aware of any who have actually purchased this light.

Nicron? Is that supposed to fool Nitecore buyers? Iā€™d expect to see that name on a camera in an anime.

Can this G700 be bought with PayPal?
Letā€™s all order one and open dispute if that is the case. And while we are at it write reviewsā€¦
Dang credit card is needed and I do not want to give them the info.

Nope - charge cards only, looks like - I thought of that too .

Yeah I just checked it :frowning:
Problem is my French is not good enough, sorry because I can create a virtual credit card with limited amount and exp date on our online bank environment.
If I could communicate in English I would order one paying like this so I could start a fight over it (like I do on AliExpress with great success)

If you go on their site & use their online chat you can ask if there is any other way of paying besides debit/credit card to which the reply is that if you donā€t want to give your details online they will ring you so that you can give them over the phone.
If you ask any technical questions such as confirmation of the led in the light they cut off your chat J)

I would be happy to review it and pass it along to the next reviewer. Google should also put my legit review above the fake ones. Just putting the word ā€œreviewā€ into the tagline usually puts me on page 1 of searches. And thereā€™s my personal conundrum: just like others here, I wont give that scammer company any money. But I would pay the 6 bucks to ship it priority mail to the next reviewer in the queue.

Just saw this thread. Itā€™s funny, my dad gave me a flashlight for Christmas, sort of an afterthought gift, and I saw it was cheap junk and said, ā€œthanks Dad, thatā€™s cool.ā€ Then I put it in a box and the other day I happened to see it and pulled it out and it said G700 on the side and I cracked up.

Having said that, Iā€™d be happy to give it away to someone if they want to review it. Paypal for the shipping it all Iā€™d ask. I donā€™t have the box, only the light, but it is in pristine condition. You guys are welcome to it.

A guy claiming to be from Shadowhawk Tactical showed up in the /r/flashlight community on Reddit a day ago. He was hawking his X800 light, which looks just like this thing and all the rest. He offered to send a review unit to prove how good it is, but when approached to actually set that up he disappeared. His posting has now been deleted.

If youā€™re serious about giving away your review light Iā€™d take it. Heck Iā€™d pay the shipping for you to send it to me for review then Iā€™d send it back to you. I already know I wonā€™t want to keep it

It makes me sad when friends/family do thisā€¦ I feel bad for themā€¦ :_(

What you need to do is take that light, put in a dedomed XP-G2, or something similar, bump up the current, and even JB-Weld pot if necessary, then next time you see your dad, talk about the flashlight, and how you were able to tweak it and make it ā€œeven betterā€, then show him the beam at nightā€¦
Smile, and appreciate the thought.

In the past month, Iā€™ve have bought a Zebralight SC62, SC63w is on order, Fenix TK75vnQ, Nitecore TM16GT, Nitcore p12GT, Nitecore EC11, Nitecore tube, Nightcore HC30, Olight m22 warrior, Olight M3xs-ut, Olight S1, not to mention a new Xstar VC4 charger and multiple 18650 cells.

I say that to say, yes of course you can have this light for review, I was actually going to toss it or give it away. Iā€™m not much on square beam, orange tailcap, 3aa lights myself.

PM me your shipping info and Iā€™ll get you my paypal for the shipping. Shouldnā€™t be much at all. If you review it and turns out to be the best light ever made, I can always ask for it back!

Well I was in for $5 if it went to good cause not the scammers so I am still in for $5 with this idea

Thanks! Iā€™ll put you on the list.

OP UPDATED

Also be aware that if you see an adsense ad for these scams, you can click on a button in the corner of the ad and file a complaint form with Google about that particular ad. If enough people do that, maybe Google will pull it. Because the new X800 version of the scam seems to be getting more prevalent.

Confirming, Iā€™m still in. :star:

I like the new plan; Iā€™ll pitch in $5. Looking forward to a good review / comparison.

On the topic of sending money, does anyone use an app called Cash? All mobile, requires a checking acct with debit card, allows you to send cash free (I. E. PayPal doesnā€™t take a cut!)

Paypal is free to send $ to family and friends, only costs when used to pay for a product or service.
You send it as personal/gift, from checking or pp balance, to avoid the fee.

Still in for the $5 on this or the original idea, just let me knowā€¦
