Okay, a new version is published to userstyles.org . In no particular order:
Re-added explanation about how email notifications work on “my subscriptions” page, but made it smaller.
Made text readable in the advanced post editor (and as a side effect, changed the default text color everywhere).
Moved “Write new message” link to a nicer spot in private message pages.
Made “(new) ” marker stand out more, black on red shadow.
Fixed weird junk color on form section titles, like on the “my account” edit pages.
Re-added the poll widget in left menus.
Re-added the “Jump to top” and “Home” links at the bottom of each page.
Added styles for input widgets, buttons, text entries, etc.
Made a few action links look like form buttons.
Removed background colors from links and spans in forum posts. (not sure if this is a good idea, but it makes some posts look better)
Made signature text smaller on each post.
Hide tables in signatures (should probably not do this, feedback welcome).
Here’s a small preview:

This is awesome, thanks TK for everything (including turning me into a linux convert!)
Small update:
Minor color changes on quotes.
Styled <pre> tags, which were missed before.
Separately-installable style published to limit quote nesting depth .
Also, a couple other separately-installable styles added to get rid of other page elements, but not published on userstyles.org (only on tk.net ). They remove stuff which shouldn’t be removed, like the search widget or some other things, so they’re not included by default or as easy to install.

I did what?
The day that the forum was down we chatted about which linux distro would work on my netbook, got linux mint installed and flashed my first drivers from linux last night…i owe you much gratitude (and drinks!)

perhaps i should try this instead of windows on an old laptop, i was going to start a thread asking if there is a legitimate windows 7 iso since i have the sticker on the bottom with the serial number but no install disk
dual boot would probably be best though
finally i use it.its better i have to say…only one thing i lost, but its after the server upgrade-i lost notifications about my pm and threads….cant found how to change it back…
I was mostly teasing, but I’m glad to hear that it worked and you’re able to flash drivers.
You might want to check the thread about that… (upgrade-related issues)
Hi everyone,
Well, that was fun. Sorry for the gross underestimation of the time it would take to come back online. I ran into a few fundamental problems, and after working around those I was confronted by a litany of small bugs and things I essentially had to reconfigure from scratch. But the worst is now over, and we are running on a new server with a new IP address and an upgraded major version of the site engine to ensure that everything remains secure here.
Things remaining to do…

Teasing or not, i like it (and XFCE) better than the other flavors of stock ubuntu. But getting back on track, this dark theme is LEGIT!
hm…iam mad,but i dont know how to get again my email notifications….what i do wrong?
That is completely unrelated to the dark theme and unrelated to anything you did. The problem is that BLF itself got a major back-end upgrade and the email notification feature doesn’t work yet. Subscribe to this thread for updates about that issue:

ToyKeeper:
Oh, wow. Now that is hideous.
It looks like M4D M4X explicitly set a background color on each link in that list… or set it once and copy/pasted it a bunch of times. The first half of the list has styled links, while the second half has styled spans. And a few items are bare.
I can override it, but it’s kind of a violation of scope. It would prevent anyone from ever setting a background color in the text of their posts. At least, in links or spans.
So, what do you think? Should it override style mis-uses (and also override normal uses too), or should it allow both (and give us an occasional hard-to-read post like that one)?
Thanks for the .css file TK. I wouldn’t change the .css to accommodate this list. That sort of list isn’t used that much and most people would only read it once or skip over it anyway.

Is this still the right way to enable toggling this on and off? ’oogled and found a fairly old method:
Er, there are at least three ways to search now and they all work pretty well:
“Search within thread” at the top of each thread, if you know the thread you’re looking for.
“My threads” and “My posts” for each user, if you know which user you’re looking for.
Google “site:budgetlightforum.com my search terms” to search the entire site (which IIRC is what the main search box does).
