I use Compuserve, and my mom’s AOL as backup, for my dial up 56k connection. I’m using all my extra CD’s as coasters because I’ve got 260000+ free hours (oh the days when internet access was measured in time…)
I hope this isn’t off topic by the time it has been uploaded
BTW, thanks for all your hard work SB, I love this forum and I spend an inordinate amount of time here every day. I’d be remiss for sure if you weren’t at the helm.
If you have a moment, you can quickly click the [ Preview ] button. I used to spend a lot of extra time copying my replies & pasting them into Notepad “just in case”. The Preview function gets it into the browser quicker and easier.
I’ve never even tried the Advanced Post Editor. I’m a simple man. All computers Windows 7 64-bit running the latest version of IE11…
Yeah I was pretty excited when IE11 came out as well. Now I can download Chrome and Firefox 20% faster on a new install!
Truthfully, I have not tried IE in a LONG time. MS let it stagnate for quite a while and Firefox and Chrome were far superior. A buddy of mine works for MS and keeps telling me that it is competitive now, but I just can’t bring myself to try it. Shared bookmarks between my Chromebook, phone and desktop are pushing me more and more towards Chrome. I have not had any problems with lost posts in Firefox, and I too have a tendency to research and switch tabs a lot while writing things up.

I have a request, if it’s possible. After passing the first page of search results, if you read a thread and hit the back button, it takes you back to the 1st page of search results, no matter what page of results your on. I think you just made an adjustment to a similar situation in recent posts.

There’s always the option of opening in a new tab, if you don’t want the state of the first tab disturbed.
I probably never would have noticed the issue you described, since I’ve long been in the habit of using new tabs instead of expecting ‘back’ to produce the same state as a page was in before. The web hasn’t had reliable ‘back’ behavior since functional javascript got popular and produced “Web 2.0”.

Here is sb performing a test
What he does would make most of us stressed
But he works with a smile
In good cheer all the while
Making BudgetLightForum the best
We all wonder , just when does he rest ?
Every problem is quickly addressed
Making changes each day
Nothing gets in his way
He is simply a man on a quest
We are having fun at his behest
All who visit here are soon impressed
It becomes very clear
That as soon as you’re here
You’ll be treated like a special guest
I received 2 BLF email notifications too. Atta-boy SB! Once back in action, I probably have 500 of them clogging your server.
You should have seen my inbox while I was testing. Just to be safe I re-routed everybody’s notifications to myself until I was sure it was working, and yes, I was flooded.
I’m not declaring it officially ready yet. There are still some kinks to work out in my sorry excuse for “code”, and additionally the sudden surge of outgoing messages has triggered our hosting provider’s automated outgoing mail threshold (which is normally a good thing since it usually happens when people’s servers get compromised). So I’m waiting for them to reply to my request to manually raise the limit.

The email notification system. Don’t get your hopes up yet, though, it’ll be a while.

I had this problem as well but haven’t since sb fixed the issue. Maybe clearing the browser cache will help?

Hi Administrator.
Welcome to BLF.
Nice name, by the way. But your messages are a little terse
I would like to complain about a user named sb56637, he acts like he owns the place

I got worried when I saw 64 new messages in just a few hours. I thought the thread had been attacked by a drama llama.
