Niteye B30 Clone from fasttech, 3 led bike light

Now this is interesting:

http://www.fasttech.com/products/1699/10003998/1287505-ultrafire-cree-1xm-l-t6-2xp-e-r5-4-mode-1000-lume

$46.63 not including coupon codes, a very nice looking clone of the niteye B30 bike light.

1 XML + 2 XRE’s.

Doesn’t use an oring mount.

Leds have OP reflectors.

Wonder what bin the xml led is, hopefully not a standard XML T6.

Battery pack 4*18650 (2S2P), so we know it’s compatible with other battery packs, providing the cable has the right plug, don’t see why it wouldn’t.

Battery capacity is wrong at 1200mAH. Probably 2400mAH at 7.4v (4 cells), although we should know now when pruchasing these bike lights the battery is pants.

Box and specs listing says XP-G R5 and not XP-E (or XR-E). I was just checking this out and found your post.

Looks identical to model DX is selling branded ‘Rustu’ fitted with XML-T6 according to website similar pricing too, Wont be too long before we’re flooded with all sorts of various clones in this form factor these seen pretty new at the moment if I’m not mistaken.

Saw this lastnite also. Very interesting. Looks pretty nice.

Well spotted, probably a mistake in the specs. The original B30 also used 2 XP-G R5’s and a U2 XML, my guess is the XML on this clone is also a U2 bin.

Any idea or advice:

Which is beter for mountain biking?

Can only speculate as I don’t think anyone owns either, but a big plus for the Ultrafire is it doesn’t use the O-ring mount. O-ring mounts are a bit of a pain as the light tends to slip down when going over bumps, that’s assuming the other mount option is better, it certainly looks solid.

The solarstorm looks brighter with 2 xml-u2s, but beam profile is going to be very important and it looks like it uses SMO reflectors which is something I don’t like in a bike light, there’s a chance the hotspot beam could be too intense and spotty. The ultrafire version has OP reflectors which I prefer for it’s brighter spill and defused hotspots, much more practical and nicer on the eyes.

The ultrafire also looks like it has a ridge at the top like the original niteye, which means you won’t be blinding oncoming traffic.

Thanks for your answer.

The Ultrafire would be nice, because the 2x XP-G are good allround leds (not to much spot, but a better spot as the XM-L). These will give you a good range and the XM-L will light up the close-up range.

Can you explain me* why there a 2 different LED types? What´s the XML for and what are the XP-Gs(?) are for?

I write you a PM in german
