what do you use ur flashlights for?

so i just started for about a week and i have about 6 flaslights on the way home i already have 3 at home, and i just thought to myself what am i going to do with all the flashlight? i don’t know what am i thinking when i buy these flashlights, this disease is crazy. someone help! LOL

I’ve been hoping for a big power failure… Hasn’t happened yet. :expressionless:

Sometimes I go hiking in the dark, mostly just to play with the lights and be in awe of how bright some of them are.

Haven’t been camping since I started collecting these things, should be a fun time when I do. :stuck_out_tongue:

Mostly, I play with them, just for fun.
I usually get home in the dark, so I illuminate the sidewalk. There are slugs all over the place in the summer, and it is a quite disgusting feeling to step onto them with bare foots in sandals. :Sp
Camping in the woods where it is actually dark is also nice.

Camping
Flounder gigging
Caving
Fishing
Power outages (frequent…also at work…inside a prison)
Nightime feral cat dispersal
Wow friends

I look for asbestos in buildings. Some buildings can be quite creepy and a good flashlight is essential.

Annoying anyone that comes into close contact with me. With light talk that is.

seeing in the dark

Who are you?

Have you been reading my journal?

I mean, how do you know about my fleshlights!?

lol i’m one of the lucky guy that i do not need a fleshlight, thank you very much.

Walking the dog mostly these days. Sometimes for a project or two with dad.

apart from shining far away object, lately I find low mode light is very useful to illuminate object within few centimeter for observation purpose. to help my eyes to see better actually

Imagine. Had Zimmerman one of those that throws 5,500lm (modified J18 7xT6) Trayvon might have decided to go straight home, thus alive.

Yes. Neighborhood Watch patrol. :stuck_out_tongue:

I play with my bigger lights on my nightly walks, which happen much later at this time of year. I use the smaller ones around the house after dark - house lights are frequently left turned off to facilitate this. Small EDCs are used at work, behind and inside computers. Small-to-medium ones are frequently handy when geocaching, especially after dark.

Lighting flashes, of course… J)

+1

I was once on a trip and there was a power outage at the hotel. I will never go on another trip without a light, hotels are DARK without electricity.

I work both under vehicles and in dim dingy buildings, workshops and rooms, a couple of good edc’s and lights for in my toolbox is what got me started……

now I find uses for the lights rather than lights for tasks lol.

They are also a nice harmless hobby, its quite theraputic screwing a light together, whether its a refinement of an edc/work light or to try and build a half decent thrower or bright flooder.

Interesting, how do you do that?

My building probably has asbestos because it’s at least 20 years old. :zipper_mouth_face:

You just look for materials that might contain asbestos and take samples for analysis. Sometimes you can tell just by looking at something, but all samples need put under the microscope to be sure.

Gotcha, thanks.
