Thrunite TN-32 thread

I saw this on a banner ad on CPF,but when the link is clicked it shows no further details. The banner ad states"for flashaholics only"and it seems it's a TN-31 body with a polished stainless ring behind the selector ring.Is this their MT-G2 entry into the flashlight race?my google fu may not be as strong as others, but I came up with nothing else.Feel free to post anything you find out about it.

Haven't been able to find anything about it yet.

If it is the one that David, from ThruNite, spoke to me about then it's not an MT-G2 light. It will be pretty impressive though. ;)

I can't tell you more than that because I gave my word, sorry.

Maybe they finally decided to do something very radical like place 2-3 led's almost next to each other.

Or just a 4 battery setup instead of two, with the same, or slightly deeper reflector.

Spill Johnny, it'll be our little secret, just you, me, and anyone else insane enough to stalk the thread :p

I was thinking of buying the TN31, do I need to wait?

very interested to see what this is!

I’m not sure on pricing but I would hang tight a little longer.

According to this site the price is 229 USD and is a XML2 U2, My guess is that is a beefed up version of the TN31 with the resistor mod that we already know.

You might be right, it states 1702 lumens on a single XM-L2, which is only possible with pumping 5-6A into the LED.

TN31
1376 lumen
Max beam distance: 840 meters.
Peak beam intensity: 90000cd.
TN32
1702 lumen
Max Beam distance 727m
Peak beam intensity 132000cd

Knowing very little about such stuff… it’s the same size, but has less throw and more lumens, so more flood, and more light to the flood area? But if all they changed was the amps, would that not give it more throw, or at least more lumens into the throw area?
I am a newb have pity on me… H)

Their numbers just don't quite make sense... the TN32 has more throw, but a lower distance is given... unless we tossed out the laws of physics somewhere along the way I'd say something is off.

It's nice to see pictures of it though, great find, and thank you for sharing.

It would seem it's basically just a beefed up version of the TN31. For those of us with already modded TN31's probably a pass.

Thanks for searching out details on this,at this point it's a redundant light with all the mods out there.I was hoping for MT-G2 but it seems like they are not going in that direction yet.I at least have to give them credit for listening to the flashlight community and offering something of this caliber.

An MT-G2 version would be nice, but I wouldn't want it in place of a higher powered XM-L2 version. Fortunately that doesn't seem to be the case. If and when they do it, they need to drive it hard like they are doing with the TN-32. ~2300 otf lumens like the Eagletac's doesn't make much sense when they're already claiming 1700 lumens with the XM-L2 version. Keeping the same low as the XM-L2 and a high of 4000 otf lumens would do nicely. Infinitely variable output would be outstanding, but sadly, it may be too much to hope for until later next year.

Something is wrong there... The specs on that site are screwed up - 1.5 hrs runtime, 1,700 lumens on a XM-L2 U2 on 3 18650's? Yep, sure... They say it's in stock, but also it's in "pre-sale" ??? They make this stuff up - maybe JM can straighten them out...

1700 lumens off a single xml2u2?

it must be driven at 10 amps and cooled by liquid nitrogen!

6.5a can do it with a lucky bin. 1600-1700 is pretty much the norm for a Tom E or Vinh modded TN31 with max amps. But I can’t see a factory light coming in over 5a. It truthfully looks like a dressier TN31. In fact it looks like several of the newer Supbeams.
But the listed throw and lumens just doesn’t make sense like many here state. Of course their numbers have always been a little screwy. Now the numbers VERY screwy.
I guess we’ll have to wait and see.

FYI the link to the light above, its a photoshopped picture……look at the 2, not even the right font, size or color. Good try by the retailer but that’s not the light

Don't go by the specs posted on that website. They are all wrong in just about all their output statements.

BTW, I was telling David about people wanting an MT-G2 model and he said he will look into it. If I know him it will not be the usual 2200 lumen light the others are making. ;) :D
