What cheap budget very small knife do you like more?

Sanrenmu a148, sanrenmu a169, sanrenmu h03 or sanrenmu 604?

I don’t have any of these. But the 149 & 169 I do not like looks of. Reminds me of surgical tools.

Ho3 I like looks.

604 is best looking utility style.

On another note, Xatu, did you make any progress with your G712?

I don't have any of those, but I really like the GR-605.

The 681 is a good little knife too.

+1 for the SanRenMu 681

The A series of knives from Sanrenmu are Chinese fruit knives, they’re designed for hobbies and stuff. You can find better ones if you look on FastTech for the “Rimei” brand knives and you’ll find ones very similar. I think the H03 is the best out of all of them along with the GR5-605, which is a red version of that green knife you posted.

The 605 is $5 from fasttech:

The H03 is $6.58 from FastTech.

If you’re from the UK I would get the Sanrenmu H03, it’s legal in pretty much any country. The 605 has a lock though, though I do like it a lot, it’s a cute mini knife. The H03 is better IMO though.

I would also say what other people have said, the Sanrenmu 681 is in my opinion the best mini budget knife you can buy. It’s built like a tank. It’s $6.55 from FastTech too.

Xaru: i`m not from Uk but Spain. And i put the 604 because i have incoming the 605.

Streamer: My g712 is still bad, impossible for me loosen the screws. I will try biling the screws or with dissolvent.

Perhaps i must get the 604, i have the 605 yet, i would be the pair then…

Hi xatu.
I have the SanRenMu’s A169, A148, C142, GV-604, GR5-605, 6029LUC-G and I’m waiting on an H03 on order. I also have an AOH02, the best of the lot.
You didn’t say if you needed a slip joint or not.
I’ve got a RIMEI Multifunctional Stainless Steel Fruit Knife and RIMEI 5811 on order. A RIMEI 5924, with a really strong backspring gets no use at all.
BAZO, 5432 and 5430 not bad but very small.
An Omuda 3922 that I’ve ordered looks good.
Out of them all, the SanRenMu’s GV-604 and GR5-605 for locking and SanRenMu AOH02 for non-locking

EDIT……The GV-604 is a chisel grind if that affects the outcome.

What about Sanrenmu lb-763?

A very good choice!

Also the SanRenMu 7010LUC-SD

or the Ganzo G706 Unusual, but good steel.

There’s a two blade version as well, same Krupp4116 steel and serrations that work properly.

The budget is creeping up a bit but still great value.

The SanRenMu A169 looks a bit crude in comparison but is only just over $5 and is quite a large knife but it cuts things very well. I’m going to put a couple of strips of wet/dry abrasive paper on mine to help the grip,

I really heat slip joint knifes (without lock system) but i could try if i like its look, perhaps only a very cheap small knife for wasting some credits i have on a refund. Really i do not like very much small knives but i can try if it is cheap. I prefer bigger knife.
(I have a harnds viper incomming  )

I think that a non locking knife with a backspring can be dangerous, it can be closed on your fingers or cut them when you are trying to close and the backstring push…

It is curious, the a149, h03 and 604 from sanrenmu have differents steels each one.

Xaru was spot on with his recommendation of the SanRenMu GR5-605, the finger choil means that it feels like a longer handle, add a small lanyard and you’ve got all four fingers sorted. $5.13 FastTech The red G10 is surprisingly good, the blade opens with a great click, I liked it so much that I bought the SanRenMu GV-604 as well. They make a great pair. The 604 has a chisel grind which personally I don’t like, but I’ll only use it lightly anyway.

You’ll like the Harnds Viper, mine had sharpish liners but it took 5 minutes with some wet/dry paper to sort them out.
Quality knife really, full flat grind slices nicely. Even though the bearing washers are ptfe I’ve not wanted to change them and I’ve got phosphor-bronze the right size. They are smooth enough as they are.

A friend ask me, if I can order him a second H03 (he lost his first). Yesterday I received it and first action: Cut me in my finger during I try to close it with one hand :(

If you use two hands, no finger cut problems. It's a nice design, but it would not be my favorite, because the metal handle. I prefer G10 or Micarta which has more grip.

What steel does the GR5-605 use?

Now $11.06 up from $10.30. FastTech is becoming runawaytrain. :open_mouth:

I cut some wet/dry paper or skateboard griptape, the wet/dry you get a choice of grips with the grits 600grips well 1200grips less, the wet/dry I usually superglue but skateboard griptape has adhesive backing.

The only slipjoint I have been able to open/close one handed is the SanRenMu AOH02. There are many that you can open one handed it’s just they tend to be above my budget. Spyderco UKPK, Boker Plus XS, SOG Splipzilla and many more.

I’ve got a SanRenMu H03 on order at the moment, I’ll be very careful of it, thanks for the warning.

Still cheaper than Exduct’s $12.38 but as you say creeping up.

8Cr13MoV

The 604/605 from fasttech say 8cr14mov but it can be a mistake.
The a149 7cr17mov :Sp
The h03 i think 8cr13mov

SanRenMu .com which is not the website of SanRenMu says 8Cr13MoV for both GR5-605 and GV-604.
Couldn’t see a steel type mentioned at FastTech.
Exduct say 8Cr14MoV
GreatWallOutdoor 8Cr13MoV and I wish I hadn’t looked because I saw this set of 710s :~ so near xmas so little money.
