DX doesn’t ship anything US to US.

Really? Then what do they mean by their US Direct site?

If they call it US direct but meant slow boat from China anway, that is simply more paisley from them. Smile

Hate to say it guys, but they are messing with me as well.  I ordered a lot of these (over $1,000 worth) in two separate orders on March 31st and April 1st from the US Direct site.  About a week later they added tracking information, which now more than a month later is still invalid; that’s six invalid numbers after 30+ days.  I have tried contacting them multiple times with no response.  I opened a PayPal dispute and waited about five days, no response.  I escalated to a claim more than a week ago, no response.

They have been holding onto more than $1,000 for over 45 days and won’t answer an e-mail, message, or a claim.  What’s worse is that they added tracking information when it’s obvious they never shipped anything.  This tells me that they know they screwed up on the pricing but didn’t want to admit to it, so they faked it to buy some more time.  I don’t know about you, but I don’t like giving businesses $1,000+ 45 day interest free loans (when it wasn’t part of the initial bargain,) especially when they act like this.  I am convinced that if I didn’t file a PayPal dispute they would keep the money and never say a word.

I don’t think that everyone will have this sort of problem dealing with these guys, but I’ve given them a few weeks to make things right and they haven’t said a word to me so far throughout all of this.  I’ve ordered from them before without any issues, starting about a year ago, but this is beyond the pale.

I am also still waiting for my torch from DX my waiting is

Mine shipped on April 2nd also, but I have not yet received it.

My experience over the years with DX is that they are incredibly slow, but honorable. Hopefully this thing with RMM is just negligence, and nothing dishonorable.

I have had this happen twice: supposedly shipped with “tracking number” which shows “communication of package origination” or some such, then nothing. When I inquire about it, I get no message back for a while, then I will get a message that they will “investigate”, later I get a message asking for more money to ship the units because the unit I ordered is “out of stock”. When I looked, there is a new order created with the same item at a new higher price, but “wait for customer, requiring payment”. When I ask I get “the item you ordered is out of stock, this item is more”, which is really the same item as far as I can tell, just re-listed higher price. This is a very scammy feeling set of actions.

Well now they claim they are re-sending it after I got upset complaining that they twice didnt get me my order and re-listed the light at a higher price after claiming my order was out of stock…but I’m wondering if its just another gimmick, its been a couple days now stuck on “prepare shipment”, not sent, and if they get me to wait a few more I cant use paypal.

So I finally got my order after emails back and forth and they “re-sent it”, however I’m not glad I did: these 6x SRKs are dimmer than my un-modded 3x SRK with XML T6, they are very blue, and they randomly flicker. Not only that but one died after a couple hours…now I’ve got a different headache to deal with.

Definitely not recommended Sad

I finally got my money back, thanks to PayPal.  DX never said a word throughout the entire process.  Like I said before:  I am not a fan of being lied to.  This is what I believe they did because they gave tracking information and said they shipped when they hadn't and then never responded to any questions about their status.

Mountain Electronics : batteries, Noctigon, and much more! What's new?

I have yet to do the spring mod, but as of now, my subjective guess is that it is twice as bright as it was. Before these 2 mods is was about as bright as a modded 3 XM-L SRK with tail spring mod, lead mod and FET swap to 70N02. That also was a cheap, non JB driver.

Now I’m curious to what these lights are like standard dchomak says standard is like modified 3xSRK yet B42says dimmer than standard 3xSRK

I ordered mine 15th March and it still hasn’t arrived DX just keep saying they are checking into it, have raised a ticket 3 times now for this.

I bought it with the intention of swapping the FET and wires I would like between 3-4000 lumens after mod (I’m guessing closer to 3k than 4k tbh) just as long as similar to my warrior that has resistor mod done to it

Has anyone measured output standard and after a FET swap?

I signed on just now hoping to find this thread. I ordered one each from DX China and DX US. I got the one from US in about 10 days, but have not yet received the one from DX China.

It’s true what I said about the one I got from DX US. I’m guessing that the one B42 is not the same exact light, newer cost reduced stock. Probably doesn’t have good heat sinking, that could explain the blueish output and the eventual death of one of the emitters.

DX China said they shipped mine on April 1, I haven’t received it yet, maybe they were only fooling.

Just got mine yesterday(5-27), ordered when this thread first went up. Never track my packages so I have no idea when it shipped.

I got a black 6*XM-L2 one from USDirect..yeah not as bright as the 3*XM-L one I have…only problem is…dang thing is glued up tight!

I am not going to futz with it till I get my 3*XM-L that I cratered back up and running as a 3*XP-G2 running at 1750mA per channel thrower..but it’s going to take a bit to get there

Wouldn’t you know, the day after I contact them after waiting patiently for almost 2 months from the day they said they shipped it, I get it!

Same exact light that I got earlier from the US store that only took 10 days. Very happy with this one too.

Well, even with perceptual differences, my Convoy S2s with 8 chips aren’t THAT much dimmer than the 6x SRKs I got from DX. They are that bad. Not that the Convoys are bad but to beat one emitter’s output should take less than 1/5th output each emitter of the Convoy …plus the Convoys are warm tinted, its not even funny.

So there has to be at least two different “versions” of the light that DX stocks, and looking at the site there are already many more than two that they list, I’m sure there are many more than the ones they list as well.

For these to be OK you’d have to believe I completely lucked out with all of my lights, my purplish beam SRK that looks white and bright next to the DX 6x and my Kung are both a lot brighter than “normal”, and therefore so are all my Convoys, my Warrior, my C8s, and my J18 and 12x lights to be overpowering everything…that’s really the only way this could be a reasonable output from this light…so, not possible.

I purchased several and they are all about the same brightness, and visually dimmer than my old gold 3x SRK.

Very disappointing just at that, but then I also already had one not working and fail. All around bad.

Has anyone tried to de-dome this SRK?

I see a few threads now about de-doming to get extra throw and I think it would be a good idea for mine.

I have braided the springs, upgraded wires to SWG18 silicon and changed the FET so it’s now good and bright but the throw isn’t much better than my Tangsfire C8

Is it easy to de-dome all six LED’s at the same time as they are all on the board together?
