NITECORE P36 CREE MT-G2

it seems nitecore decide to use MT-G2 LED with their light
and use 2x 18650 battery but the rotary switch is kinda weird for me.

sorry about the picture, since i don’t know how to resize it from original size :~

Just change the relative width percentage to about 50. Anyway, nice light, but that rotary is kinda strange yes.

The use of the MT-G2 in flashlights may soon be overtaken by the new XH-P50 led that has way better throw and a similar or even better output. Time will tell...

UI sounds ok. Not sure if it’ll be too clunky one handed unless you have giant sized hands, but the principle behind it seems very good IMO.

There is a new emitter?
Is there a picture of it?and which light use XH-P50?

It is comparable with small sun zy-t08 just with a smaller head. No problem holding it in one hand

I like it.

I think I’ll be buying this for my bday, which is today. (4th) Happy birthday to me!

looks similar to a tk35ue

There are already some threads on this light. I think it is like a clone of the tk35ue, but they are really both overpriced and I would have liked 3*18650 instead.

Overpriced? How?

Personally I like the 2x18650 route, there are already loads of 3x18650 torches. Which are all great, but BIG and heavy. At least this is slimmer and likely nicer to carry in a coat pocket.

It is very new, XM-L footprint, quad die, 6or12V, even the specs are not on the Cree website yet, surprisingly there is a special edition Eagletac with the new led:

Overpriced compared to a high powered and high quality MTG2 light like the K40M. I would like a MTG2 light with 3*18650 where the head was a uniform size with battery tube.

So what you are saying is, other MT-G2 lights have a too big a head, rather than this one not using enough batteries….

Price - what other torches offer a UI even half as clever as this one? Instant easy access to Min, Max, Strobe, last used mode, Momentary and a wide range of output levels. All either while the light is on, or allowing pre-selection from off.

Good UI’s are a rarity on budget lights unless they are 1 mode.

I can’t understand the location of the switch and dial. Does anyone actually prefer to carry their torch with thumb at the back? I think it just makes a billion x more sense to carry it side-switch style and have the dial near the head also.

Side switches are normally more ergonomic, but tail switches are easier to find. Quite often I find myself or an associate fumbling to find a side switch. Especially in the dark.
