"friends of banggood" vs. MAP

"friends of banggood" vs. MAP

… or how the nitecore-MAP-incident affects the way we get codes....

i was thinking about a way to keep dealbreakers and MAP-police out of our groupbuys and code-sharing...

I see my work as a kind of wholesale - i collect a large amount of sales with my affiliate links - which makes all our tiny (and big ones) buys one big number for the shop.

So we act like a buying syndicate. Making bigger buys allows bigger discounts...

And the codes i get from Neal to share with you have always been good ones!

but if some butt gets jealous and tells a manufacturer that one or more shops sell low they can kill the deal for all of us.

my idea: "friends of banggood"

i want banggood to reward the people who buy often and have already spent money in the past at their shop!

benefits:

  • MAP and “silent, PM only” deals are given the first 5-10 days only to friends

  • groupbuys made with friends don´t become public before all friends confirmed their orders shipped

  • propably "friends only" sales

how to get on the list?
-> PM or mail me
a screenshot of your orders page in your account so i have proof that you earn to save! Wink

or your last order numbers from banggood (lights, batteries, chargers)

if one does not want to buy at banggood - don´t do and please do not rant in this thread Wink

if one does not want to use my affiliate links - i have to live with that Sad

(but your participation will strenghten the group!)

PLEASE NOTE
i do not work in "reviews, deals and codes" for the time being

We already tried this before with Johny Mac.. but through his website, but fail miserably because no one goes to his website.
if Banggood really want to reward their customers, just tell them to look at the orders in the past and their email address, and then sent “special coupon” for them.. going through your links only to get discount it’s just absurd, it sound like you’re shilling for them.

but then again.. if you advertise heavily for them, might as well get paid for it.

The only way to do a great work is to love what you do.

if there is no trust that a MAP-deal/groupbuy keeps hidden and the shop has to fear that someone tells the manufacturer

there will be no deal…
for noone…

i just try to find a good way get better codes for us..

why do you think are the mailing sales not as good as the codes the shops share in the forum Wink

it’s a really big problem….. but i think that a solution is hard to find.

if a reseller want to sell LOTS of product…… it is NORMAL that it’s risky. with a restrict list of buyers….. sales = 3 % of potential = no sense

I think you’re going to find that a lot of people aren’t going to want to share account information with someone who doesn’t work for Banggood.

I would imagine that there are some Map Killers out there that have orders from Banggood as well.

If Nitecore wants to kill business for MAP violations when the price wasn’t even advertised then banggood can just give you codes on non Nitecore lights. Nitecores loss.

No offense intended, and I understand the frustrations trying to keep these deals going.

Perhaps we could just provide a date and time of an order that we used one of your Af links to purchase from Banggood?

I hope you figure something out though, I’ve used one of your links in the past and have made several orders from Banggood. I’ve had good experiences with them so far and their free shipping has been pretty quick compared to others.

+1 If Nitecore (I really like there lights) makes it too hard for you to do what you do for us via Banggood, then maybe just dont post nitecore deals (maybe we need to ask you about nitecore) and just move on and post the others. if nitecore looses business so be it. It the other mfg bennifit so be it.

BTW thanks a ton for getting a code for the new JM30 do you have an aff link on your list for it?

Just keep it as is...

why going to those large extends? Are you working for them?

Why not do it for other sellers as well?  That will keep it fair.

This would really look like you are part of their business.

Give other sellers also a chance..

you all have good points!

I already have refused to give sensitive codes to 1day members…

and I know a lot of you by username and had good contacts so I share everything Wink

@ other shops:
i do share with hkequipment since the beginning (longer than banggood in fact )

I also did with gearbest…
but they kicked me because Neal often made a better offer than I shared – so I gave the better price to you guys!
they decided to use other members…

here are a lot of affiliates to banggood, gearbest (look out for the hidden shareasale links…), dx and fasttech…
and not all of them are as honest and open with the links and the fact how affiliate works as I try to be !
please notice that.

I stick mainly with one shop where I get (mostly) a very good price in a few days on each request!
member asks for any light and usually he gets a price. that is a service from Neal I think…

That's what I mean, with keep it as it.. I don't like making little groups of people that are IN and OUT. Just do it foe the community, and not for a few so to be called VIP people.

If people want to buy something, they will contact you.. you give them their code, they buy, and all 3 are happy.

The truth is Nitecore and the other manufacturers don't care about MAP at all. THAT comes from other dealers and/or wholesalers that complain that if they cannot make a certain margin then they will not buy for resale.

One possibility would be to make a private room where members must meet a certain criteria to have access BUT that will not alleviate the person that approaches another dealer and states "I can get it on BLF for XXX but I would buy it today if you meet the price". I could see that happening just because someone did not want to wait for shipping time and then that same dealer complains to the manufacturer.

Another avenue is top approach the manufacturers directly via one of our Chinese vendors. That can stop complaints from other vendors because it would be a "deal" for a large order and unless they wanted to do the same there is nothing they could do.

It's the simple things that we take for granted that cost us the most

I remember back when I first started being active on the forum, the codes were being posted on sites like slickdeals and fatwallet. User unique codes would put a stop to that.

I myself am not interested in NiteCore products because I think they are overpriced bling. If they had affordable special flash sale prices, I would be interested. Myself, I like well designed and affordable lights that the regular underpaid working class guy can afford like a Convoy, Warsun, ect.

Exactly and I don't dislike the other dealers for that. When someone like IS or other US sellers can't sell, because by the time they get the lights, the shipping and other costs make it hard, I understand their complaints and I do not care for Banggood's devious maneuvers one bit, or anyone who works for them, no matter what their supposed reasons are. After some exposure to all this MAP evasion and all it's problems and frustrations, I don't even want to do those kind of deals any more. It just isn't worth the hassle.

find this statement to be quite puzzling.  Who establishes the MAP policy?  Who enforces the MAP policy?

The Manufacturer sets the policy and then decides how and when to enforce it (or not).

Most of them just state it so they can say they have a policy when in real world practice the manufacturer often will sidestep their own policies to get rid of old stock.
This is usually done through a valued vendor to sweeten a large buying program or it can be done directly buy the Mfg. through outlets such as epay and they will claim that the product is “Recertified”, open box, etc. when in fact it is just overstock.

Think of the old days of Albums, remember the “Cut Out discount section” of the Record Stores?
Once it had the small snip out of the corner or just a small slice in the cover, it was considered damaged goods and could then be sold for way less with no repercussions from the labels. It was accepted policy for decades.

Keith

My point is that if you want to point the finger, point it at the manufacturer.  They are the ones who set the terms, and they are the ones who enforce them.

How much time has been spent on Group Buys that get tanked by MAP? Seems like a regular occurance around here.

This is what I find humorous. When it inevitably does go South, some members get bent out of shape as though it is some sort of big surprise…as if cancellation of the GB could never be a logical consequence to begin with. Hello?

With so many companies producing amazing lights, I just don’t understand the fascination with finagling a Group Buy/MAP showdown. Maybe it is a forbidden fruit kinda thing?

How about organizing Group Buys only with companies that do not have a MAP policy? That is what I do…

No one, after lighting a lamp, puts it away in a cellar nor under a basket, but on the lampstand, so that those who enter may see the light.
