Acebeam K70 -VS- Thrunite TN42

Which one throws farthest? Looking for comments from owners of these lights, or if you perhaps have borrowed / used one before.

I am leaning towards the Acebeam since I can use my 18650 cells. Proprietary battery packs are not my preference.

thanks!!

Watched a recent You Tube video and the TN42 out threw the K70. Check it out

You can use your own battery in the TN42. TN42C is the one with a Proprietary battery pack.

The Thrunite TN42 is the current throw king

Has about 20% more lux than the acebeam and you can change modes one handed.

TN42 no doubt.
Screw Acebeam for MAP.
Mike

I think you are wrong, because these lights, which I have both, use 18650 batteries. It is the TN42C light which uses proprietary pack.

ok I see now thanks!!

The thrunite TN is the current king of throw. At some point the human eye is the limiting factor. I have the TN32UT and absolutely love it. Never has a a Thrunite failed me. The inability to run regular batteries is also a deal-breaker for me.

Thrunite makes both TN40 and TN42 with battery pack and without. the TN’s without the battery packs are the TN40S and the TN42C. I am buying the TN40S as soon as it’s restocked. I do not care for the battery packs. I like having extra sets of batteries on hand.

OK got it thanks!! Its the TN42C, thats the throw beast and its the version without battery pack that I want. Do you know when they will be back in stock?

You are not asking for, but I really want to see the TN42 in comparison with the NiWalker Vostro Black BK-FA09S Cree XHP35.

I don’t have a TN42, but the BK-FA09s is also a true lightsaber

No,you are wrong. The TN42C,is the light WITH the battery pack.I have both the TN40S and the TN42,which have not a pack.

I took my K70 to the beach last week during full moon. The throw was mind blowing and it was reaching much further than I could even see, but for walking around I much preferred the DQG Tiny 26650. Im holding the K70 on my profile picture <—-

In most cases both the acebeam and thrunite will provide more throw than you’ll need in a real life use situation, go with the one you like the most! I found the K70’s magnetic ring a bit complicated to use single handed.

He did. He told you that you got it wrong.
He didnt insult your manhood or tell you that you was a failure. He simply corrected you.

Don’t take it so personally.

OK got it… TN42, not the “C” version is the one I want. Thanks all!!

I am waiting for the thrunite Amazon store to get them back in stock. I received a performance bonus from my employer in Amazon store credit. So I really am in no hurry.

One things for sure the TN42 is quite a bit larger than the K70, thats OK by me…. theres no replacement for displacement.

Btw, there’s a 10% discount with the coupon code TN42 on Thrunite’s website.

I have a K70

MmmMm, TN42. Any sales out there? Me want

Wait until the GT starts arriving and you may see lots of TN42’s and K70’s for sale…

Highly doubt that, but in a way I hope so! The TN42 and K70 are alot more portable. The GT is a serious beast!

I think it’s going to be the other way around really!

The BLF-GT will have "it's" place for use, I suppose. I have two arriving soon. IMO, the GT is more novelty, must have, more than realistic necessity.

My interest in throwers has been a slow up-rising. I started in the EDC/single 18650 size throwers to get acquainted. Since then, I moved up to bigger/further throwing types, like the Maxtochs, EagTacs, AceBeams and such. I don't "need" anymore flashlights realistically, however my lures in the beginning were AceBeams, Thrunites, NiWalkers and a few other choice lights. The lights themselves are expensive, the leading brands. So for me, it takes me a little more time to acquire "my wants". I don't do reviews, so I can't get them cheaper in that respect. And I have other "wants/needs" that have been taking priority. That's OK. I'll get there. I'm not competing for picture posting proudness.
