Most around here are a bit gun-shy, since it appears to be a clone of the SkyRay.
SkyRay is almost a curse word, as in "I just stepped in a big pile of SkyRay," or "learn how to drive, you dirty SkyRay ! "

Yes, to be more specific, at least one of our members has (had) a fried Penta XM-L Sky Ray. So I would avoid the Trustfire too, as it looks to be a clone of the Sky Ray. And I would especially avoid it from BlueLans, as they send shills over here to spam BLF all the time.

So you think it is a Sky Ray not a real Trustfire product. I never had a problem with a trustfire. I will avoid this torch
as soon as manafont sell the trustfire version ill buy it and reveiw it
I want to know if shills have to take a rudimentary IQ test to get their job? I bet you that if they fail the test, they get the job.

Oh I do, I just hope everyone else does too!
I just deleted Sanseven and all of his spam. Word to the wise: Avoid B l u e l a n s . c o m and all of their filthy business practices.
Budget Light Forum ...where Frugal meets with Flashlight!
I am just a normal bloke from New Zealand who doesn't know anything about bluelans com.
Get a life people I am not a spammer. I own a 3xt6 trustfire and saw this add.
I am open for apologies.
Thanks
Jorg
Has anyone accused you Jorg? Who's paranoid? Lol
Chill, welcome.
*until, *unlikely, *native tongue. No offence meant, but everyone makes mistakes, although not everyone is a spammer
One of the few things that annoys me about BLF is the tendency to pick on non-native english speakers as spammers just based on their ability to post grammatically correct sentences..
everyone is spammer
I just brought one, it was $8 usd cheaper then the bluelans one and its from a trusted seller.
TrustFire TR-J12 Cree XM-L T6 5-LED 4500-Lumen 5-Mode Memory Flashlight - Black Aluminum Alloy Finish (3 x 26650/3 x 18650)
As soon as it get,s here ill do a review and some long run time test, range test, current draw and i might even have to pull out the lux meter.
Hopefully everybody knows I am not a spammer. If I make a spelling mistake that is possible because German is my first language. You are more than invited to answer in German and I make the corrections like a school teacher. By the way I bought the new trustfire TR-J12 from DEAL EXTREME and hopefully get the thing earlier to New Zealand than you around the world. If you want I can write a non technical review mostly comparing it to other torches I own.
Thanks
Jorg
do want, thanks
+1 on the report
Apart from any consideration on the seller (which I don't know)
my bigger question is from a technical point of view: 5 XM-L claiming over 5000lm??
That means a lot of juice from the batteries!
I don't believe it's possible to achieve those numbers from only two 18650 in series.
The rule of thumb of one 18650 for one XM-L applies I think...
If those 5 leds are in series, it would need roughly 3,5v x 5 = 17.5v at an Amperage of no less than 4A to achieve 1000lm each. 17.5v x 4A = 70Watts from TWO 18650 batteries??? No way!!! even with boost drivers there's no way, a theoretical (unreal) 100%efficient driver would need more than 8A from the 2 in series 18650 batteries, recipe for explosion, maybe?
With a good boost driver, and pumping 4A from the batteries (which could be safe if high quality with pcb) each XM-l should see somewhere around 1.8A that means a max overall output about 3000lm.
Not better than a Dry on turbo I think...

Hi Rockspider, you are very correct to say that.
Check out the other Trustfire TR-J12 threads, we have made measurements and you would know what to expect.
I would like to offer my apologies to Mr. Karlnapf.
I had to track my posts down since the watched post engine was reloaded but I didn't forget to make sure I made things right about my accusation, to either prove it or not. Well it is certain that I was wrong about you Jorg and I do apologize. I do hope everyone understands my reason I was so sure you were a spammer from reading my posts above. Mr. Admin has deleted the know spammer sanseven who was the first to respond to this thread. All other posts that sanseven was involved in was tag team spam, please understand I wasn't judging you Jorg on your grammar or spelling!
I'm glad you stuck around Jorg! This is a great place and we all, like myself, seem to guard it from scum bag sellers posting spam links and we have took alot of spam from blulans.
I didn't mean to hijack this thread but I just wanted to make public my embarrassment for accusing you and offer my formal apology. I was wrong and I am sorry...I do hope you forgive me and may the flashlight gods be with you and bring you many padded envelopes!!
So which company's flashlight is more reliable?
ha..how about the dealextreme, is it the best?
The light should be the same really but i like Manafont better due to faster shipping so to me its worth paying more, but each person will have a diffrent opinion i quess.
Maybe check out this thread.
TrustFire TR-J12 5 x CREE XML T6 from DX MF and KD
Jorg, Sorry you were accused. After you've been here a few months you'll be just as quick to keep the BLF forum
"clean" by throwing the spamers out. BLF is an interesting place and a good place to learn about flashlights.
Don't worry about the characters guarding the gate. I'm glad they are there. Welcome to BLF
I am waiting now for more then one month. I am on "backorder" . Has anybody else this bad experience with Deal Extrem? I never ever will buy anything again. Happy that everybody knows that I am not a spammer.
They are slow but not that slow. Open a case with their CS? Looks like they could not get the J12 @ 70 bucks.
I got mine in 2+ weeks, 3 days processing and then delivery. But from Emmy Zhang in Aliexpress
Yeah it happens all the time from all of the Chinese websites like DX, DD, MF etc, the longest I have waited was 4 months for a back ordered item.
If you dont want to wait try and ask for a refund, if they are being stupid about it then make a paypal claim before the 45 days is over.
No worries, i have received a paypal refund from DX for a backordered Sky Ray G6 stainless steel XM-L. I cancelled at the 8 days point or something.
