I got counterfeit fake 4xSamsung 30q’s from Bangyougood when buying my Astrolux MF01S. They didn’t care too much when I told them about it either. When I left poor feedback, I checked the review & it said I left 5-stars…

Yeah thanks, I’m having real trouble sourcing cells that are genuine, I never imagined how riddled the market is with fakes. I believe it’s so bad many sellers don’t know their selling counterfeits. It’s easy for me to test resistance and capacity but discharge current is (at least for me a bit more tricky). I actually thought they were genuine, it was this place mainly that educated me. Take a look at the number 3 on an original which is not rounded it’s more like Z shape at the top. Here’s mine. I’ve just taken some pics…how the h*“- do you post pics on this forum, I’m pretty new but made say a dozen posts.
I see where to long YT vids or video but can you load pics straight from your phone? Or do you need to use imagur or whatever?
The fake batteries don’t bother me too much they are a half decent cell. And I’ve been happy with ALL my Astrolux lights and BLF lights I’ve mainly got through codes and links here. But when they doctored my review…that pissed me off. I realised that reading their reviews which are basically ALL 5stars is a bit of a waste of time.
I still can’t understand why people don’t “get” that buying anything from overseas is akin to being in the Wild West East, and you should ONLY buy if you do your research beforehand, make sure you know you can very easily get screwed, and you likely have zero recourse if you do.
And even if you go all Barkuti and show video how the cells should have 3 prongs on the cap instead of 4, how the IR is too high, whatever, they’ll likely just blow you off. “Oh, you not get rock in pink shrink-tube? Then battery good! Go away!”, and screw you as far as getting a refund. Maybe 50-100 unusable “points”, but that’s it.
That said, I got all my 30Qs from FT, and they all tested out on the money, 3000mAH ±100mAH or less, low IR, still chugging along in lights I use ’em in, etc. That can easily change if they get a bogus batch from a supplier, but I had pretty good luck so far.
I’ve had the 3’s look rounded and still tested genuine on my analyzer at a 15A discharge
