Sofirn has just relaunched their web store system under www.sofirnlight.com. Barry already spreaded the news on Facebook but he asked me to post following message on BLF and TLF.
Hi Sofirn fans,
We are now using a new system on our website www.sofirnlight.com for providing better service. We are sorry that you need to create a new account because we are unable to transfer your old accounts into the new system. However, all your data is saved safely. Your previous unfulfilled orders will be fulfilled step by step. Please do not worry.
If you have any questions, please send us a message to:
I think the site needs some more work. No listings for the C01S, C01R, SP10S…… but if you search for the item individually they come up. The product list does not have AA or keychain lights as a category like before.
Bad move, IMO. I don’t like it already. Eg; SC31T no mention of emitter type or tint/options (if any). And they just unceremoniously dumped some of their best models into “SHIPS FROM USA ONLY”. No more 5000K option on the SC31 Pro?.
The frequent pop-ups of who has purchases what is really annoying. Solfirn should give us an option to disable this function. I don’t need such distraction when I am trying to decide which flashlight to buy.
A similar problem exists on the website of Neals Gadgets.
Just tried to place an order for the Version 3 of the LT1 lantern. The 10% disacount code is nice. But I was turned off by the shipping fee of US$10!
I will just wait and buy from Lazada Singapore, where there is a similar 10% discount, but free shipping from Sofirn in China.
Wow, the second ‘reset’ since they launched their website! Again they want us to create a new account, … it gets boring, Sofirn. Wonder how long this version is going to last.
If you are looking for information on Sofirn’s lights it is probably easier to use my database. No popups either. Though the information can only be as accurate as what Sofirn and reviewers publish.
discontinued I must have gotten one of the last ones. Went back to order several more, out of stock, emailed them and they said discontinued. WTB if anyone doesn’t want theirs…
Seems like Sofirn could offer a pretty great deal for repeating this inconvenience with no warning to us, despite so many faithful customers on this forum.
Sofirn, I dislike having the chat- and this ‘X from Y bought Z’-boxes coming up all the time. It’s terrible and would rather distract me from buying anything. Please remove them. Leave an iconized chat box somewhere to be opened by the customer when required. It’s always nice to talk to Barry, but it’s rarely necessary. Please.
Whoever sold them that pile of crap website upgrade needs to suffer a Latticebright TruBlue in the face on Turbo for like an Hour with their eyelids propped open Clockwork Orange style.
You want the old trusted SC32A in Blue? Sorry does not appear under 18650 flashlights but does appear if search function is used.
Really want more of the Silver model but after having said over 100 in stock they just disappeared and that was on the old site, yet they list it as available color in the description on the new site.
As far as re registering, that kind of tells me they ditched the old provider of website and started with new, Cheaper code writers.
Which begs the question, what happened to our private data?
Not the orders, but the personal info.
Why would the info not be transferred to updated site?
Fishy and bad business, love most of their flashlights but not this crap.
Have to login and start going through the check out process before shipping charge is shown, then after not checking out for real I get an “order cancelled” email.
So it seems like just starting to check out creates an order “awaiting payment” in their system even if checking out isn’t finished, then cancels it if payment isn’t completed, instead of just doing nothing like a regular website.
Missing items unless searched for manually.
Crazy stupid amount of random useless popup things.
On a lesser note, websites that call the cart a “bag” are stupid. When you go shopping do you put stuff in a bag BEFORE you buy it? Nope. It’s a cart no matter what you call it.
Whatever. I guess it’ll still work If I want to buy something, but the old site was better.
Edit: someone else said the free shipping threshold is $29. I know it was $21 for a long time, I must have missed when they changed that.
