Looking for 16340 light

Okay confused about this first a 16340 is the sme size as a cr123 just rechargable right? If so I guess that’s what I’m looking for. But also what’s a cr123r then?

I want it as a back up to my 18650 light I have and since I have a universal charger I’ll just need the batteries and light themself.

My requirements

Black
Modes doesn’t matter.
Good grip. Will be used with gloves
At least 400lm
Rear clicky
No more than $20 and I need links to batteries you guys recomend also

JetBeam BC10
I use mine with an AW RECHARGEABLE and it puts out more than a cr123 battery, with the rechargeable batt it is a 400-500 lumen pocket rocket.
And the AW pays for itself in 3-4 charges

a 16340 is more or less a rechargable version of the CR123 cells.

The 16340 may be a tad longer than a regular ole CR123 if the Li-ion has a protection circuit built in.

iirc, CR123R (aka RCR123) is just different nomenclature for a 16340.

trustfire flames aren't terrible

Kumabear has some US based batteries that are very nice .

cr123's are primaries ..or throw aways ..they are 3volts where a rcr16340 is a rechargable and charges up to 4.2 volts ..at 3.0~3.5 volts it needs recharged

16340

the 16 is the width 16 mm and the length is 34mm and the 0 means it's cylindrical

same with 18 65 0 /18650 or a 14 50 0

can that trustfire really put out 1300 lumens?
hard to beleive………anybody have this light?

I don't think anyone has this light including Dino direct ..My guess is....they don't have it .

I didn't even look at the specs..Do you think they know xml from dsl ?...It will do whatever is possible to do direct driven on whatever battery you have .My guess would be about 700 lumens for not very dang long ...Again I doubt they even have the light.... seems to me I've tried to buy this light in a AA version from DX before and came up empty .

SKY RAY R5-S3 $17.85 has a xp-g R5 led

Uniquefire at $14.91 has a XM-L

The AB-T60 has a 38mm head and should throw a beam like much larger lights while maintaining a compact size. It's also at $20 right now. A real good price.

But the best bang for your $$ in that size HAS to be the L2M clone at KD. No, it's not a real Solarforce L2M but it's a solid little light that is completely upgradable and rebuildable should you need to. It also comes with an XM-L p60 drop-in that's every bit as bright as the infamous UF 3-mode XM-L drop-in from Manafont. This little light has the biggest set of balls on it that you can buy stock for such a small amount of money. Use it, abuse it, or lose it...then buy another!

An L2M with an 18350 is also an option. About the same length as a 16340 but a little more run time.

The cool thing about the L2M is that they can run on 18650, 18350, 16340.

Here's a fun one:

Ultrafire 501a - 1x CR123a/16340/18350 host - $5.89:

Add your choice of drop-in:

UltraFire T6 3-mode - Great drop-in, but a lot for lower capacity cell - $15.98 (making the build a bit over your budget):

or...

UltraFire 5-mode U2 XM-L module - I don't have this one, but it's a lot cheaper and looks decent - $12.00

http://www.manafont.com/product_info.php/ultrafire-265mm-cree-u2-5mode-memory-led-dropin-module-42v-max-p-9932

or...

Ultrafire 5-mode XP-G R5 drop-in - my personal choice of emitter for the 501a host. A good compromise between the throw of a XR-E and the floody brightness of a XM-L. Also much more conservatively driven, which would be much better for the health of your cells - $10.05

http://www.manafont.com/product_info.php/ultrafire-cree-r5-5mode-memory-led-dropin-module-42v-18v-p-4052

Here are your protected 16340 cells - $6.07/pair:

http://www.manafont.com/product_info.php/protected-trustfire-16340-37v-880mah-rechargeable-batteries-flame-2pcsset-p-5571

...but for the 501a host, I would purchase these 18350 cells that are slightly larger, but still fit the P60 host and will give you additional runtime - $7.20/pair:

Solarforce L2M body is on sale for $10.99.

I forgot about that one! I have it on my wish list. Looks like an intersting little light. Not very pocketable, but good for a night-stand light...

Does anyone know if the strobe can be easily deleted on the Ab-t60 or sky ray s3? That is the only thing detering me from these.

I’m looking for something more in this size

http://www.surefire.com/gifts-for-men-and-women/t1a-titan.html

theres also the lifepo4 rcr123a, which have a nominal voltage of 3-3.3v… but where you are going to be using a li-ion charger, thats out…

thrunite t20?

I know they dont recommend 16340, but if you dont blast high too long it might be OK?

I’ll bet LifePo4 cells would be fine.

The Bronte RC10 has similar looks and more than twice the performance but with a forward tail clicky and at roughly 1/8th the price.

Holy crap I didn’t even see how absurdly overpriced that t1a titan was! Wow.

Is there anything similar to a v11r, but budget friendly?

Small Sun ZY-C1
Not black, it’s stainless steel.
Nice little cigar hold thrower.
$13.37
