What you got today

uniquefire ufv4 headlamp from MF, Who said postage is slow this time of year. I received it in 11 days via Hong kong Post.

Really??

i think many of us dont have a 'shipped' confirmation from DD yet. They dont seem to have the P2A and the P1A in stock.

You got yours from DD? (order date, ship date)

I got 2 Klarus P2A from DD:

ordered 30.11.11 received 7.1.12 38 days $26.39
ordered 7.12.11 received 27.12.11 20 days $25.13

Love this light, its imo far better than Fenix E21/LD20.

Thanks heinzeins for sharing, great info!!

Hmm... long time ago that you ordered the Klarus!

oops haha.. my P1A was ordered more like at the very end of last month (Dec). Not shipped yet. Kills me, DD.

Congrats to your Klarus P2A's .. is your pocket clip nice (but not reversible i guess), good quality?

I did. Ordered the last day of November, got my shipping notification, including picture about 20 days later. Took a bit longer than usual but I'm not complaining.

That's the main and only reason why i will *never* sell my lights which i got so cheap and had waited for for such a long miserable time. There are tens of great national flashlight specialists (sellers, dealers, distributors) in our country but they charge 38€ for the Klarus (p1a or p2a, same price) plus 5.80€ shipping, that's in US$ a total of 55.88US$. Even if i could afford it, i wouldnt want to. Such pricing hurts and spoils the overall joy and enjoyment.

It is so much more satisfying to own the same torch for some 12US$ or so (thanks for the giftcards, DD!!). I am to this new hobby (flashaholism) not because i *need* 10 flashlights but because i draw joy from it .. by one way or the other. And a big part of it stems from the insane deals and prices (both DD and DX) and the triumph to have paid 10 bucks whereas the average or conservative national buyer pays more than 5x the price. He/they dont mind paying 55.88 and they get their joy from the fast shipment (DHL national), the great personal service (sellers here are one-man-shows and seller-buyer-relationship is pretty informal and personal) and relationship. They're happy. And i, the budgeteer, am happy too.

Let's face it, in contrast, the actual price we (are willing to) pay is the miserable waiting time, long nights at the PC, bad sleeps, fear of loss. Short, torture. So those who pay the ~60$ eventually mock us -- in their own right.

On the other hand, me paying 5x the price just for quick delivery and full peace of mind? I find that totally acceptable. Would kill the feeling of triumph and all the emotions involved and would leave me with something primitive, very dull, profane and cold. No fun:

another piece of round aluminum tube (the torch's body), with another XP-G R5 (the torch's head), and a tailcap. Manufacturing value (Made In China): 10 bucks.

My Romisen RC-29 still looks more attractive than the much higher priced Quark or Xeno E03. So what gives?

Agreed, the whole thing fueling my flashlight interest is the thousands of extremely cheap variations of all sorts of different types of lights available from places in China. If I was only purchasing lights from the US, I would have just bought one or two and been done with it.

nice one, mfm!

looks nice and heavy :)

That does look nice!

Received another E09 from DD (SN 1120xxxxx). This one is almost indistinguishable from the E09 I got from MF last year (SN 101xxxxxx). It came in a tin can (think Altoids) and included the usual set of spare parts, which the MF E09 did not. In terms of brightness and tint, they look like long lost brothers. Apparently, the QC folks at Tank are doing their jobs pretty well.

Also got a 501A that I don't really know what to do with yet and I just realized I have a ridiculous amount of 18650s and P60 lights that hardly get any use at all, but no idea what happened to all my 16340s and many of my old dropins.

Hey guys,

I wouldn't rely on the tracking numbers from DD because it shows that my X8 has not left that I placed on 12/26 and it showed up today...I am really impressed with this light so far I can't wait until dark time. Anyone else here have one? It has a nice solid feel and shoots a nice tight beam across my living room.

I got my Fenix TK21 and TK35 today.

The SolarForce M8 did arrive today, rikr. Found it sitting under 1" of snow on the front porch when I got home for work. After it warmed up to room temperature, I cleaned it up, lubed all the threads and popped in my new Xtar 2600s and all I can say is WOW. I've never had a thrower like this before - even the wifal unit was impressed....

Handsome, rugged light, grip feels like it was made for my hands, although much lighter feel than I expected. Fit and finish almost perfect. Details and further impressions will be appended to the M8 review by Foy, but here's a couple of pictures in long and short versions:

Me likey.

I got the DRY!!!!

Also some TF 16340's and some really crappy switches from DX

BetweenRides

That is a good looking light. I like SolarForce alot good quality for the price. I have the L2x,L2m,L2r, and the MPP-1 Great choice.

Oh ya, I just got a Romisen RC-T601 and it's a damn good looking light, and in the house during the day it is really bright and throws good. Can't wait until tonight. Does anyone else have one of these?

intl-outdoor

These are GREAT! you can stretch them onto lights they shouldn't fit, put them on really far, or just a little, and poke the end in toward the lens, all to create different beams. Can't scratch, can be stuff in any pocket and hardly noticed. Definitely a must have. I'm going to tell him to find more sizes - this would be awesome for making big throwers into lamps.

this, on the other hand, I would not buy again. The box is rugged enough, and probably waterproof, but all the hinges will be short lived, especially in cold weather, and any box this size should have a belt loop on the back (though I knew I'd have to add that before ordering).

they are all the same (and produced in Ch*na). Otterbox, Pelican Box, noname box, etc.

there are youtube videos where they drop Otterboxes from the roof of a house. The contents of the box would survive the drop but the box, since it's hard plastic, would crack into several pieces ("explode").

no regrets. such boxes (Otter, Pelican, Eagle, Polarbear, etc.) are all made the same: hard plastic.

Got a Sanrenmu 939 Black Stainless Framelock today. Sweet!

I got my DRY today as well! WOW. A beast! Can't wait for nighttime!

I had to make washers for the battery carrier to get my Hi-Max batteries to fit. But it worked beautifully!
