C8 with 9,1A

New Dragster:

(Pill is custom build by Fritz15, Driver is custom build by me)

Host: C8 (14,5cm x 4,5cm)

LED: 3 x XML(parallel) with Optics

Driver: 3-Mode (9100mA, 2800mA, 450mA) for LiMn. (measure @HIGH = 9,16A)

With LiIon´s it´s "direct drive", i measure ~5A @ HIGH.

Runtime @ HIGH: VERY, VERY SHORT! (it´s a dragster, but Mid-Mode is useful).

Aw , c'mon , where's the

Beamshots

And I can’t even solder a driver to a pill properly. Nice job

Holy crap! Look at the stacks of 7135's!

This is obviously a very powerful device, but I just have to ask: how long on high before you have to drop it?

Nicely done, I am stunned!

Oh yeah: Beamshots plz!

Wow all I can say is wow OK, very impressive nice job. I am having trouble stacking those chips so I ordered a better soldering iron and maybe I will finally be able to do it.

OMGLOL @ mountain of 7135's.

I suppose that's one way of getting a more space efficient alternative to the SSR90 drivers. :D

Beam shots please!!!

Very nice.....

The commercial version is just 35mm longer plus 10mm larger in head diameter though with LiMn 18500s. 2 cells @ 2.5A, converted that would be 5A if comparing to your case.

Beamshots can take a while, because now the flashlight is 45km away from me

...it´s a pure flooder ;)

Love it , need beams !

OMFG! You gotta be kidding me! That's some serious chip stacking. Two thumbs up.

Andi,

would you mind telling me which lens did you use - 19° or 25° ? Probably you purchase leds and lens from items from http://www.led-tech.de. This is actualy my intension, but use different wireing. Can make a photo of yours?

For paralell driven leds what batteries did you use?

For 9,1A out of 4,2V, you need LiMn!

And because of only 4,2V the LED´s are wired parallel ;)

In this flashlight, i use the 19° optic from LED-Tech.

I had made a similar flashlight with normally same optics but from cutter.

I mean cutter ones was a bit more throw ?!

(this was with orig. driver = 5A)

Can you direct me to some LiMn baterries you use? Links would be the best.

I'm going try to use 8,4V (2S2P) pack, so i need different wireing and driver. We had some discussion about that in this thread https://budgetlightforum.com/t/-/2816 from #10 onwards.

Andi, I guess you have selected the 3 XM-L's by (near) same Vf at 3A. Else there could be a serious difference in current between them.

Nice piggy-back construction.

insane!

WTF! It's an incredible number of 7135! I think it will become quite hot on high..

I'll wait for beamshot.
