Q8, PMS SEND TO THOSE WITH ISSUES BLF soda can light

Well just silicone, you know, the stuff available in transparant, white, brown, used in bathrooms. In any hardware store usually a whole lot of choice. just pick one that can cope with higher temps. And sorry, I know only the Dutch name siliconenkit and the name “kit” and had so much when we moved here no need to buy, but at MrBricolage/E-leclerc/Casino Geant I see it.
I am kind of surprised no one seems to get what I am talking about being a well know product and used for man things.
If i were to mae a button on top of a flat cell I woul use this, because it can be removed wthout marks and is very easy to put on it.
Edit, it is my understanding one uses somethng to make sure the magnet wont slide of, this will do the trick.

And this style(Solarstorm)?
I know, this is not typical SRK style, but I like it
Without Side Switch. (perhaps if the charging system is not working)

Put me down for one please.

Really am Not in favor of any in-light charging, too many issues.
Thanks!
Keith

Please count me in for one!

Thanks

ATM the goal is to have size similar to the older style SRK SL the reflectors fit and people can mod it to be a 3 4 5 etc version.
That solar force is nice but not like what we are after.

Yes I see the charging not make it into the final product. But if, only done good.

I think I would literally cry if we dropped the side e-switch . I agree with Muto (and others who posted about it) - I'm not a fan of the USB charging because don't think it can be done well, too many risks, too expensive to be done right, specially with a 4P setup.

Yeah it wouldn’t be an SRK without the side e-switch. Honestly, to me, that’s non-negotiable. I mean I know I’m not part of the team so my opinion is just that and carries no weight, but I sincerely hope we don’t drop the side e-switch. I also hope that ramping firmware comes through

I could care less about the charging though. It can go or stay and won’t matter one bit to me. I’m not going to use it anyway.

Well though we are not sure about a lot of things and anxiously awaiting what the engineers of Thorfire have to say about our list. We do know for sure a side switch is mandatory and Barry/Thorfire has said so as well.

Amen, so be it
It was just my gerilla idea :innocent:

At first I thought going for dual switch, so also a clicky on the bottom.
But Tom E has the software to lockout (safe!) easy and his driver hardware design has reduced the parasitic drain to such low values we ditched it.

Not a fan of the USB charge port. Side switch, lockout mandatory. Sounds great already!

Side switch mandatory
Lockout button via software
Lockout current via a little unscrew of battery tube, though Tom Es hardware design means so little parasitic drain this is not really needed

I’m interested
Please put me on the list

I’m in - put me on the list.
Thx for your hard work - MCT

I’m interested.

How about adding a fifth spring in the tail center and allowing a single 26650 to run the light?

That does not seem like an expensive addition considering the added versatility battery wise.

Ok, “kit” in dutch seems to mean “sealant” while in French it’s something that you assemble (like furniture from ikea) and in english it means many things but not caulk (or “joint silicone” in french).

Still, even knowing now what you meant to write, I don’t know how you use a silicone caulk to form a button top cell, because it’s not conductive. So maybe a picture will finally clear this out.

Another vote against built-in charging. I’d prefer a lower price or better components instead.

Given the capacity of 4 high-power cells, I’d be sitting in a nursing home wondering what a Q8 is before it finished charging

Possibly he means to use the caulk/sealant around the perimeter of the button magnet to prevent its shifting.
