Q8, PMS SEND TO THOSE WITH ISSUES BLF soda can light

I hope you have better luck with your Mobius than I had with my brand new Mobius 2. I just returned it because it wouldn’t retain the memory card. I’m waiting for Mobius to be readied for prime time. Maybe someone will come out with something better in the meantime.

Nkon HAD them.
I did post here when they had them… sold out now.

I have the Mobius 2 & 1 and yeah it sure do need some more firmware work, and it appear some Mobius 2 are better than others with the new firmwares.
Quite a few of us on the dashcam forum have the Mobius 2 and test on it, and a few of us seem to get worse low light performance as the firmwares have progressed.

Tho old Mobius 1 are a much safer bet, and right now it even perform better then the 2, but the 2 have a chance of outgunning it, just hope that don’t take 2 years of development in firmware, its soon a year old, and i fear the new way of doing DIY in linux might be a bad idea as opposed to use Ambrella or Novatek SDKs.

A lot go on in the camera world too, even with little non gopro shaped cameras.

I get some ( 4 ) HG2’s tomorrow, but they will probably see action in my P 36 first.

Nice video sparkyDK! Was the knife a Puma-SGB-Wildcat??

Awww… You say the nicest things!

Not so fast, pal.
I see what you did there.

Flattery will get you nowhere.

No it is the smaller white hunter.

I also call it my deluxe butter knife as it due to its shape are really good for spreading butter on our bread when we are out camping.

It also come in a larger model i think.

Also i have a large Puma Bowie.

Thats for my ” that’s not a knife, this is a knife” situations.

BTW did you know the english work knife actually come from the Danish / old norse word for knife ( kniv or knifr as we said back then in the good old days )

Needless to say all my knifes are illegal as i don’t have a permit :open_mouth: We Danes traded in our spine and blood-thirst many decades ago.
Not even legal to EDC a small pocket knife here, the individual safty are “taken care off” by the gooberment and your only legal defense are a phone call to understaffed police.
Now we just a shadow of what we once was :frowning:

Sorry, it’s been an odd day.

Did I hear someone say… production samples?

They seem to be having some issues finding a carrier to deliver to the dark side of the moon… I tried to make the argument that if they could just GET IT THERE you’d light their way home. :stuck_out_tongue:

Yes, will update list later
Welcome to BLF!

Hi all
Could you please add me to the list for a sweet Q8 also.
Thanks. Great work by all involved.

I am guessing it was the Puma White Hunter

My brother gave me one when i was about to leave for vietnam. unfortunately it never made it past jungle school. I picked up this replacement many years ago.

ken

Nam ? you must be a oldie then, im from 66 myself, so way too young for Vietnam aside for the history of it off course which interested me for years.
And it was not a one sided interest of mine though i am the son of one of the foremost Commies in Denmark, my old man are still alive and still a commie too, at least he dident sell out like so many other commies did when people here stopped voting for them.

And commie or not, not selling out you got to respect.

Me i never voted for the dumb asses though there still was a little left when i got old enough to vote.

Careful of politics sparky, sure would hate to get this 6286 post thread locked for a rules violation.

Dont worry im a 2 finger typer and English are after all my second language, and since i learned the language myself as a kid then spelling result in me often having to rephrase myself as i cant spell the words i would speak, so me debating politics online will never happen.
Thats what you get for reading comics in English and German class in school as you already speak it better than the teacher, and they then fail to stimulate your learning at a higher level.

Lucky its not a German forum cuz while i speak that language just about as good as English, then spelling it is a outright disaster.

Sparky, I tried to post this last night, but despite folks trying to help me figure out how to in the past I’m still unable to.

Anyway, what I was trying to post can be found here: Dropbox - File Deleted - Simplify your life

What a shame that you can’t take something like those along when going out at night looking for grey wolves. The sticklike one (sub2000) is very light and extremely fast handling, but relatively short range (9mm Luger cartridge), the other will reach out and touch (5.56 NATO), but of course at night is limited by how far one can see. Despite it’s increased weight over the Sub2000 it still handles great due to the short bullpup overall length. Either would handle a wolf with the right bullet selected for the cartridge. Either would beat using only a flashlight and harsh words for self protection from 4 and 2 legged wolves.

Both can take a mounted light and laser to simplify targeting.

Note that I will only let those pictures remain in place until you indicate you’ve seen them or for at most a day or 2.

So the agreed BLF introductory price is $40, and Thorfire will certainly raise the price during normal production / retail sales.

What price do you all think Thorfire will set as the “normal” price for the Q8?

(Just speculation/curiosity/chatter)

Also @The Miller:

I am currently on the list for two (one, plus one) - I would like to be added for two more.

That was discussed a thousand or so posts ago. I remember $100 as being the figure guessed at.

OK……. I missed the lower guard, thumb rest, & belly in the blade first time I looked at the video on my phone. Nice knife.

Nice Bowie also. :+1: I have one similar to it, a bit smaller I think and with no upper guard. I like yours better.

  • Is that some “file work” on the spine, I can’t quite tell?

Nope, I did not know about the English word for knife. :open_mouth: . Thanks for sharing that. :+1:

That is a shame about having to have a “permit” for a knife……… :person_facepalming: And as far as being “”taken care of”“… we most likely have the same opinion of that, it stinks too.

Yeah, the ’phone call theory’ is…… well…. hmmmm, just outright stupid to say it mildly.

” that’s not a knife, this is a knife” / One of my all time favorite movie lines/

.
Take care my friend…….

Teacher, we have a saying here in the USA, “When seconds count the police are only minutes away.”. At least here the job of the police is to collect evidence AFTER the crime has occurred. They have no responsibility to protect anyone.
