OMFG! LiitoKala 26650-50A 5000mAh li-ions?

I noticed when I removed protection from some 26650 here the ribbon to the raised top and to the board was very thin.btw all my kk are flat top with no sign of any such issue.

That ribbon is meant to carry a tiny wire to feed a few μA to the protection IC, no need for more.

Cheers

the ones between board and cell neg, cell + to top are the real issue.
and those may be BAK china cells.
bak
look at the pics.

To the OP: This is off topic was the “OMFG” really necessary?

OMFG (#2)@urbandictionary.com

Hello!

Authentic Soshine NCR26650 3.7V 5000mAh Rechargeable Li-ion Batteries (4-Pack) -> Looks like the thing, doesn't it?

Cheers ^:)

definitely BAK china.decent based on pulls of 18650 from new laptop packs.

Any idea of their current handling performance?

Cheers ^:)

Not untill I or HKJ get some to test……

Just received 4 pcs of Liitokala 26650 yesterday. Voltage around 3.82 V.
I will do capacity tests on 2 of them in the next days. Tests will be on 1A, 3A and 5A. 7A test is possible on request.

Nice to know; mostly interested in the 5+A figures and, please, would you mind mentioning both initial no-load voltage and the subsequent initial load voltage? This would be to comfirm the pretty good IR figures initial testers are reporting.

Cheers ^:)

Here are my test results on two of my my LiitoKala 26650 batteries:

To understand these results you have to keep in mind that I did not “condition cycle” the battery before doing the test. So the 1A test was the first discharge on this battery ever. 2A the second and so on.
Obviously the battery gains capacity within the first few cycles.

I charged with 1.5A. Cut off voltage while charging was pretty much exactly 4.2V at 0.15A.
Discharge started at 4.185V
Discharge cut off voltage was 2.80V.

No 1:

1A: 5043 mAh
3A: 4972 mAh
5A: 4990 mAh
7A: 4953 mAh

No 2:

1A: 5092 mAh
3A: 4986 mAh
5A: 4981 mAh
7A: 4961 mAh

The batteries match nicely.
I am sure the other pair will have the same results, so I am not doing tests on them.

On 5A the battery barely warmed up. On 7A it warmed up but did not get hot.

This seems to me as a pretty good result so far.

The weight of the batteries:
95.2 g
95.6 g
96.1 g
95.8 g

Notice: None of my LiitoKala 26650 will work in series as the flat top is too flat to give contact.

Sorry, did not read your post before testing.

Oh my.
I have 4 KingKongs and 6 Basen’s - I don’t need more 26650 Batteries… but I want those Liitokalas

Good figures
I am surprised that your cells don”t work in series though.
On first inspection I didn”t expect either of my pairs to work in series as the tops are very flat but I have tried both pairs in my S70 & they work fine in series ?

Yes at $20 for 4 they seem very good value
My Keeppowers cost about $15 each by comparison :open_mouth:
Glad I bought my 2 pairs of Liitokala”s

Maybe they will work in series when pressed together in a flashlight. I´m not able to test this yet.

Added result for battery No 2 and weight of all four in #50.

Yes both pairs of mine run fine in series in a light
I expected to have to add a magnet to 1 positive to run them in series but didn”t have to.
My 4 cells are well matched in terms of IR, capacity & weight.
They did not get warm when run in a light drawing about 5.5A, my heaviest draw light, so are fine for my needs.

Hi,Let me share something with your guys.

This battery not made by LiitoKala .It is by an unknow China manufacturer.

This battery is true 5000mAh ,And even more than 5000mAh .One question is the battery diameter is about 26.5mm .A little bit big than 26mm. The Battery internal resistance is about 13-15mΩ.

About the discharge ability. This battery can be discharge at 20A.However, it was recommended work under 15A .What’s more ,The battery it CID(current interrupt device). The CID will work when battery work about 30A .And it means battery die and no recovery.

I have bought this battery from below Aliexpress store .

The owner is a professional battery guy .And the price seems good for this good battery.
