It is a trade off
A small die LED would certainly give more throw
A big quad die led would certainly give more lumens
In our opinion the XHP35HI is best for a good thrower (and when Thrunite and Niwalker agree it is pretty clear the way to go )
ty sir :+1:
forgot to say, all these are modded
tn40 = 470 k lux
tk 61 = 500 k lux
tn42 = 775 k lux
so if you figure the gt is going to hopefully be 1.2 mill lux give or take
thats 400 k lux or more, over the tn42
might set that tree on fire if im not careful when i do beam shots :smiling_imp:
Nice to see the head can be unscrewed. I’ll wait and see if I can make an easily swappable MCPCB or Pill incl. driver once I lay my hands on it. But it’s pretty nice as it is right now. Although WAY too huge ofcourse
I agree to get the max throw out of this thing with XHP35, just for the throw numbers of the whole project. Modding it thereafter with XHP70 should be easy enough (and very tempting!)
wall shots, troubled driver, kicking in LVP all the time, stills from the video showing the issue so nowhere nearly as bright as it can be run when issues ar resolved. Also note in proto a HD and not a HI XHP35 is used. I just tried to ake screenshots for the hotspot already looks pretty tight, good for a first proto and with such huge reflector
The driver issues turned out to be a simple issue with the wrong firmware version being used, I figured it was something like that. A very easy mistake to make and very simple to fix.
