Just a quick update…
The SST-20 version is available to order now, and the tint bin is FA3.
The coupon codes at Neal’s Gadgets are “NDFW3A” and “BLFFW3C”. These work for the aluminum version (FW3A ) and the copper version (FW3C ), respectively.
Neal asked for the coupons to be published, now that the copper and SST-20 lights are available.

Awesome news! I can’t seem to add one to my cart yet, though.

If you have got the group buy message before, just use that coupon,
same as the XPL HI 3D/1A/7A coupon

Awesome! I’ve been waiting for the SST-20 version, and it’s a solid tint bin no less!
Cheers!

Whoa. Haven’t been around for a while now. Cool to see a copper version is here! Also, anyone know if the FA3’s have been tested by anyone here? Are they different enough from the typical green 4000K examples in circulation to bite on?

Actually, I was wondering that too. Does anyone have the 7A, and if so, how is it?
How much brighter, or not, is it than the upcoming SST-20 will be?
I know the topic is really long now, but I could swear I saw people posting about 7A purchases. So they’ve definitely sold. I’d read that they’re considerably warmer than the 3D. But yeah… I’d also be very interested to see the 7A vs. SST-20, direct comparison.
Geuzzz:
To be honest, it’s pretty good. Was planning to do an emitter swap as I don’t do lower cri anymore, but I still have the 7a’s in there. The tint is very nice and it runs pretty cold compared to sst’s or nichias.
Strange… I’d heard that the 7A was quite warm. Isn’t it 3300K If the SST-20 is something like 2800K, then the 7A would certainly look a touch cooler. Is that what you’re seeing?
I wonder if they look similar to this:

I was under the impression the SST-20’s would be @ $5 less. Oh well, great little light and I like supporting nealsgadgets. Everything has been spot on so far. Awesome packaging as well. Not a box in a bag. Thanks to all on this endeavor.
Edit- I used wrong code. Remember to use the code sent via PM from the FW3A TEAM. I feel stupid now.
Edit#2- Neal refunded the difference. Totally amazing customer service. Thanks Neal.

Below is what Tom E had to say about the Orange & Aqua Glow Gaskets… :+1:
The ice blue/aqua definitely is brighter and lasts longer than orange:
ice blue trits in there as well [image]
Oh boy, the ice blue for hours, but no, don’t have a definite time. I’m thinking though it was still glowing at 5-6 hours, but not certain. It’s a huge difference - sorry I spent that kind of money on orange - not worth anything to me, actually. We, or I, should tell Neal.
Checked my order and it’s aqua . Last night, charged it up at 11 PM, and by 5 AM still glowing, even by 6 AM. So at least 5-6 hours, maybe 7-8.
Again, don’t get orange! It lasted maybe 1/2 to 1 hour tops, but even initially, loses it fast. Was hard to get a pic of it because gotta work fast.
Might order a green next time…

@d_t_a That picture shows it well. It’s a bit less orange than in the movie, but as good comparison non the less.

I understood from TA that the FA3 tint was difficult to get in quantities.

Oh boy, big updates! I’m definitely going to get an SST-20 version now that a good tint bin has been acquired. I might finally be able to own a high CRI emitter that I prefer to the XP-L HI. The green SST-20 in my Convoy S2+ is not pleasant to look at.
Few quick questions:
Will this batch of FW3A and FW3C flashlights be running the latest version of Anduril with the improvements released on the 2nd June?
Does the FW3C still have a bead blasted finish, or is the production light polished?
Is an FW3Ti expected to be released quite soon too?
Nice work securing those emitters!

thank you for collecting all that info in one post
I already have green, aqua and sky blue gaskets so I will stick to that. I love the look of orange and lava but I like it to last a bit more.

It says polished copper on the site. Just ordered mine…
