How much total shipped
Time frame
How do I pay you paypal ok ?
Thanks

Received and installed.

Excellent, the torch head gets so much hotter now it is clear that none of the heat was been transferred to the body. Definitely a serious design flaw.

At least with this the light can now perform to its potential.

Thanks again Man of Light

Amazing effort…you’re gonna be remembered as a hero here

Anyone mod a full copper model with one of these?
I have the model with copper head and steel bezel/aluminum body.
It is so much better now that i ‘fixed’ it with this copper slug. It gets red hot in hand on turbo and when its being used on the regulated modes it is a night and day difference.
Thanks for the upgrade man of light.
Im thinking of grabbing a full copper now.

Don’t see where you posted your PP address, m.o.l.

Are there any copper cover plates still available for purchase from the third batch?

Need two.

Sorry but I only came across this thread today. :frowning:

PM sent.

3rd batch is in production?

Yes, for the latest info, please see post #1 and if you are on the interest list pos #2. The 3rd batch is in production and is expected to be available on February 21st.
Let me know if I should put you on the list.

The Heat-sink is Great. A+ (2nd batch) 15-20 min install at most. Highly recommended and I used this with some very spendy CPU heat-sink grease (Gelid GC Extreme which is a cutting edge, top-shelf CPU thermal compound). :face_with_monocle: Heat transfers to the head & body much better now with 25 seconds in turbo without any noticeable step-down whatsoever (compared to like 3 seconds before the new heat spreader), so this is sinking that heat away from the chips quite well now. This is of course with upping the temperature ceiling to about 85c if I remember correctly (in daily use I don use tubo constantly, but the times do arise every now and then. However, even if it became too hot to hold, I can (and will) simple lower the output using the UI ramping or go back to my memorized favorite mode which is a lower mode; so its not a problem for me in my daily use to have a high setting like 85c, and I recall another BLF member stating that it really doesn’t get quite as hot at the outer host shell because that’s an internal reading at the chip).

I have the 4000K 95CRI version w/ 21700 Molicel P42A (hardest hitting battery beats all others = more lumens). Happy and stylin’ now… and, I got a new lens on the way from flashlightlens.com (5% lumen boost, 40mm x 1.9mm hope this is right?), and flashing the firmware for a battery check doesn’t seem worth the trouble to me as I top it off permanently, yes, permanently attached and secured via right angled USB-C coiled charging cable from a belt mounted TOMO 2x26650 battery bank (in a theoretical emergency, I can just pop the batteries out and use them if I run out of the 21700, and I don’t have time for recharging @ 1.67A). The MF01 mini also charges “while in use”, so the overall flashlight battery drain rate is even reduced (slowed), providing extra brightness and run-time performance when using this pocket beast! :person_with_crown: POW! Win/Win.

Finally, I use a high quality #64 black rubber band over the the C port to hold the cable in which doubles as a lanyard retention system. :+1: I can hit turbo multiple times in an evening now with 100% power without (ever) changing out the battery or plugging into a wall outlet); but I do have to press a simple button on the battery bank to start charging after a long burst or extended use (no biggie), but I like seeing the (full charge) green light come back to life on the flashlight button each time. :stuck_out_tongue: I just hang my quick release tool/work belt up and plug in (charge) the TOMO once or twice a week which also charges the flashlight automatically on plugin (also has “charge while in use”). :sunglasses: All is good now… Thank you Man of Light!

I just installed my 5 plates :). Had some 0.5mm soft thermal pads from T-Global lying around, which were perfect. First I calibrated all my Anduril lights (15  ),then I compared a modified with an unmodified MF1 mini. Wow. What a difference… it’s a shame that the MF1 mini has this design flaw….

Thanks for this mod !
Now adding some aux LEDs to my FW3A/S

I’m planning on my first MF01 mini purchase being the full copper model, just not sure what LED choice I’ll be making yet. But I do know it will have this fantastic mod!

This mod should not have any effect on Turbo.

Go for the 4000K 95 CRI, its plenty bright and the tint and color is awesome (slightly greeen at low level but redder/rosier at mid to high level). High K white is so dang reflecting and harsh on the eyes… unless that’s what you want, then its good!

Interesting, because it seemed to for me… it used to drop down some (a slight, but noticeable bit), in three seconds and went downhill from there (I clearly remember this). From a cold start now i get just about 25 seconds (just tested again now). Another member also said it stepped down after 3 seconds before the mod, and this other member (below text) says it stepped down even before the head got hot (which I also noticed, and it makes sense that the chips would soak that heat up instantly as there was not a proper thermal path from them to the host shell).

I wonder what battery you and Skylight are using, something good I am guessing? Anyhow, with just whatever battery you are using… How many seconds before step-down, before you added the copper heat-sink? I remember mine stepping down I think even on a Sofirn 21700 battery pretty much the same or somewhat close from what I remember; maybe not as drastic, but close… Hmm, so maybe the expensive thermal CPU grease I used helped it out a lot. I don’t know, LOL. Anyhow, I would like to hear from anyone else’s experiences of ‘before and after’ with the copperplate mod using Turbo from a cold start… You got me wondering now. Cheers

This got me curious as well. I have a full copper MT07 unmodded and I might want to test this. Maybe I was wrong but I had the impression that the Turbo was affected with the stepdown just as the highest ramp.

Received mine from the 2nd batch. Thanks!

I took your advice and ordered the 4000K, I believe it will be my first high CRI light, and the first with any of the SST emitters. Can’t wait to get it and install the mod!

While I've been waiting on 2 of these heatsinks, I really disliked the ugly green tint from the SST20- 5000K alum mini. So today I swapped in 3500K 95+ SST20's, added a spring 20 AWG bypass, and updated Anduril to the latest with a 90C thermal max limit (from 70C), and eliminated those 2 modes between voltage check and temp check (Sunset and Beacon) - I found them annoying to get thru.

I also properly calibrated the voltage reading - appears to be dead-on tracking to the cell now.

I am not an expert at this and genuinely want to know this. Are LiIon cells safe at 90°C? I’ve been told before never to let cells in enviroment with that temperature. I mean my mini get pressurised even at 70°C limit and the rubber usbcover pops with a bang, so the insides are getting hot. Are lithium cells safe at 90°C?

No, but the battery will not actually get even close to this temp. So no worries. :+1:
