18650 home light suggestion

LED Flashlights – General Info

Looking to narrow my collection to three lights:

1. An AA/14500 headlamp that will likely be the Zebra H53Fc, based on weight.

2. A thrower (have the Convoy C8A)

3. Deciding on an 18650 hand-held light for around the house.

Which 18650 is your favorite based on this criteria?

- 1x18650

- High CRI

- Combination of hotspot + some spill, but not super focused like an XPL HI. Maybe XP-L2 again or XHP35 or the new samsung emitters? Basically something with a very big hotspot I guess

- Prefer side-switch over tail switch

- Under… $40? $30?

- Smaller than a C8 / more pocketable

  • 4000-5000k range, leaning towards 4000

Not willing to spend $90 on a zebralight, though looks like the XHP50 models get the biggest hotspot (14* vs 8-12* of other ones)

Convoy S2+ (or similar) with a HighCRI Nichia 219c swapped in, or if you don’t want to do a simple mod, one of the High 18650 CRI lights from Jaxman. The E2 would do the job.
