18650 light with Inbuilt charger that fits protected.

Allright, I’m sure if I would search I bit I could find it already but have some very busy days.

As the title says, I’m looking for a light with inbuild charger that fits long protected batteries.

Lately I got a couple of people wanting a light after seeing me use one, and after giving them an sk68 or something they want even more powerful light, but don’t want to pay the extra money for decent quality batteries and charger, or for a decent quality multi aa
I just received my singfire sf349, and this has built in charger and fits my long protected batteries.
So that got me thinking, it’s cheap, and with a protected battery in it it should be safe even if the charger circuit would be a bit off, and everybody has got some sort of usb charging device.

So should I just buy a couple of those or do you guys have any other, maybe better quality alternative that I could get?
Around 20$ would be great, 25$ being the max.

Roche f6 is no option as this needs a different head for charging, and it needs to be something that doesn’t require changing all the time.
The phone charging function the singfire has is nice but definitely not required.

I wouldn’t rely on the protection pcb on li-ions. Lots of reports of the protection failing. I suspect the cheap protected ones have a much higher failure rate than seiko. IMHO you really need to check that the flashlight’s integrated charger uses a good charger chip. Can’t roll the dice when your charging inside a sealed metal tube / pipe bomb.

True.

Did some testing on the singfire, seems to terminate correct. Charged a couple of batteries (protected non protected) and also tried some freshly charged batteries and it seems to stop charging at a safe value. So combined with protected batteries and instructions it should be okay.

So for the price right now of 13.50 I think I’ll stick with a couple of those. Nice light to get people started on 18650 and with a decent quality battery they’re done under 20$.
