A few weeks back, I ordered 3 sets of these. They came in about a week ago, I’m pretty happy with them. Surprised that they are running 18650. Thanks for pointing that out, timbo114. I haven’t opened one yet, but I’m wondering if they are protected and whether or not there is any under-voltage protection on them. Would suck to have an 18650 go into thermal runaway in one of these that I had screwed to the side of my house. Time to break out the screwdriver, I guess.

Inside was an unlabeled, unprotected, flat top 18650 wrapped in royal(?) blue heat shrink. I swear when I shake it vigorously I can feel something like sawdust moving around in there. It feels suspiciously light.
Scale confirms it, 34.7 gr. Considering that an old Panasonic UR18650 weighed around 47 gr, I’m quite suspect. I’m running a capacity test on it tonight on my Opus charger, using test leads and a sacrificial battery carrier in a fire proof box, outside on the patio. Looks like I’ll be up for a while.
The included batteries in my lights have a capacity of around 1100mAh. Also, the good news is, the units appear to have a low voltage protection circuit integral to the light, not on the battery.
How do I know this? After removing the battery, the light stops working. Oy vey :person_facepalming:
How do these lights get charged? Do they use a CCCV curve, do they stop charching or is there a trickle current ones they reach 4.2V?? I guess I just would like to know the charging process.
