get on the C8 bandwagon!
A Nitecore C8, sounds expensive!
Nothing wrong with the performance, but what is it with the C8 design? The original C8 is ugly and this one is ugly too.
95kcd is not bad, but I think they could’ve achieved more by pumping higher amps… a C8 with XP-L HI and FET driver does about 110kcd, without that fancy precision designed reflector
For me,not at all ugly…
Looks like a nice thrower…
I like how the R40 looks a lot better :)
Interesting light. Nearly 100k lux is good for a stock C8 style light (the best stock C8 is around 65k), though I bet the Nitecore steps down pretty quickly!
If only Convoy has a 12*7135 stock version….
It’s actually a 1/4” wider diameter head than the C8, and almost half an inch shorter.
Love the looks myself, have one on order, they haven’t been released yet but are due out on the 19th. Prices are surprising, for Nitecore.
Of course along with the regulation you get thermal step down and digital battery monitoring. And warranty. With all the glue they put on the threads they ought to be waterproof to 20,000 leagues.
$69.95 at the Nitecore store, $64.95 at Battery Junction, as an introductory price.
My P30 has shipped, looking forward to this one…
i like this light only if its moddable, with a stock throw number of 97kcd, one should be able to achieve at least 175kcd with an dd xpg2.
a convoy c8 can hit around 150kcd. the p30 has a slightly bigger and deeper reflector….so im hoping to hear some mods.
if not moddable, nitecore should have upped the amps then….it should have been 1500 lumens and 106kcd.
There’s a caveat here, runtime is 1 hour on a 3400mAh cell while making that 1000 lumens and 618M throw.
I’m sure there will be a step down within a few minutes, same for the new Klarus as well.
There’s no indication in the owner’s manual about a step-down, but …
Guess I’ll see in a few days. If so, I’ll have to break in…
PS: OH yeah, it’s got thermal step down, so on a cold night it’ll run til the cell dies, a hot night, meh, not so much.
Yeahhhhh
$41.00 yeahhhh
Wow! Maybe I’ll bite now. That’s a great deal
