3-Mode Sipik SK68 is Back in Stock & Price is Down (& another deal)

@ NeoGeo: Here's another who'll dispatch to the UK http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/130673241835?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 This one is (currently) dearer, but you can make an offer: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/160772945466?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649

And KumaBear, sorry if I sound cynical or unfriendly in the above post. Fair play to you for making the effort to post all the info. Just that I'm currently OD'd on MMSCDS (Multi-Mode Sipik Clone Disappointment Syndrome) :\

My ultimate goal is to do more than simply curing your MMSCDS. What I’d really like to do is to track down the manufacturer of the 3-Mode version and convince them to make a run of low-medium-high 3-mode lights (no blinking!) and maybe even include a glass lens. If they did that and upped the Quality Control a little, I think they could sell a huge number. (I’ve forgotten what it was but someone had another good suggestion for an improvement as well.)

No worries about the earlier posts. Remember, I’m still a Newbie.

And thanks for the links to the extension tubes. Will they fit the 3-mode or just the 1-mode?

Regards,

KumaBear

Well, that's part of the lotto. Short answer is that both tubes will fit the same Spik clones, which means two out of the three 3 mode versions that I own (all three are slightly different from each other).

But one of these 3 mode models is an Ultrafire branded one which has a slightly wider bore battery tube, and the cheapo extension tubes won't fit this one. This is the model that won't tailstand due to a protruding switch cover. It's the only Sipik 68 clone I've owned - either one or three mode - that won't tailstand.

That's pretty strange. All but one of my 3-mode Sipiks say UltraFire and all of them can tailstand. Reminds me of my business trips to Las Vegas: "Place your bets gentlemen" - You put your money down and then see what happens.

No one of this seller ship to Italy! Ok, our postal service s**ks but that's not fair!!

Someone know a seller (with this price) that ship to Italy? Otherwise a (good) 3 mode driver suitable for AA and 14500 to swap the original one.

I got the extension tubes because of the pictures from Lensman,Lennart,Paranid, etc, some of which Lensman linked above. I posted some pics also of my own here (link), using the 2 extension tubes from Lensman's links, which I reposted here (extension tube link). Unlike the original 3-mode review (link)(best quality but would not fit extension), both my 3-modes "ultrafire branded" from eletrading from this latest batch fit the extensions perfectly, but are the worst-build quality I've seen (Bad-build example: uneven threads, dirty alum flakes everywhere, thick oily residue, bad knurling, signs of bad cast mold, thinnest bezel around the big lens, one has a rattling lens even when tightened, etc), but I can overlook these defects because of the price paid ($7.89) and the 3-modes. Also, because their boost circuit is so efficient and bright on 1 NiMH (1+ hrs) , there is no need to use the extensions. I'm repeating the links because people kept asking the same thing, thanks Lensman/Lennart/Paranid/etc again for the previous threads and pictures.

tl;dr For $6.69 now, 1000's available, go get some before they run out! Disregard the bad-build quality, you're getting a XR-E emitter and a 1.2v-4.2v Boost Driver for $6.69! What else is there to discuss?

You are not getting a 4.2V driver. At voltages above 3V you have a direct drive "driver", with insane current at 4.2V (although there is a slight possibility some batches might have a 4.2V driver).

Here's my thread on the SK68 battery tube mod procedure:

Hmmm...Im in Canada and all the links show up at the price of US $56.76 for me.

Its a bargain at 6$ or even 10$, but 60$, get serious.

This "Deal Alert" is officially dead, and you just barely missed the sale. Check out those seller's item "revision history" to see time of the price change... i guess they ran out again or whatever their deal is with this same game every month. I just checked their "other items" and see they haven't changed their price on the silver 3-modes yet, currently $8:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/150797525036 silver 3-mode $8
http://www.ebay.com/itm/251040927638 silver 3-mode $8

http://www.ebay.com/itm/251023982359 black 3-mode $10

wow, what a joke. maybe the linx of the OP were 3-mode sipik clones but now the prices are all back up at ~56$.

not very serious business practice.

big time lottery in any case!!

|( ntxmas - first link in post #15 - also now back up to $54! They weren't even on KB's list; must be all the same seller, surely, or at least the same distributor.

@ KumaBear: " All 9 came packaged the same way and even though I ordered from at least 5 or 6 dealers (on eBay), all of the Clones arrived in exactly the same packaging, all from Peter Wong at AmazPlus."

KB, were these lights all identical to each other?

There are no ebay offer for Italy so I buy a lottery ticket and a pull the trigger on this

Seems that many ebay lights come from this seller.

If you register you get a coupon to have 10% discount. I pay $7,9 shipping included.. Now let's wait.

Hi Guys,

I guess I was just lucky to catch the system at the right time. As I said, the first one I received had no lettering - but it was actually built with a little more care. All 8 or 9 of the others are indeed 3-mode with the large lens but most of them feel like sandpaper against sandpaper when you remove the end cap to insert the battery. I haven't checked the beam patterns, the centricity or the 14500 capability on all of them but so far they seem to throw a very nice beam (from a sharp image of the emitter to a nice even flood pattern.

I've ordered 6 more (3 from each of 2 dealers) on this go-around so let's see what shows up. Perhaps I'll get a toilet (like the Amazon ad describes for that Ampro 119785.

Talking about inexpensive lights, I had an interesting experience working with "Amazon Supply" as opposed to Amazon.com. Those Roughneck flashlights are back to over $20 (just like all the other resellers) but it appears I'm receiving 4 of them for just over $24. I won't be here for UPS but I hope to get them by Monday. Then, I'll have to take one and drop it off a 16 foot precipice - just to prove the validity of their ad - or maybe I'll drive my car over one. What do you think?

Whatever you decide to do, make video for us :D!

All my orders are in. I got nothing in the mail, so I decided to roll the dice again and ordered from this link supplied by Davx.

It looks like it is the only game in town at the moment.

order one and recived it today from this seller http://www.ebay.com/itm/160775728149 and it was great very good quality one of the best of sipik clones and yes it got 3 modes and i think its a little brighter and more white and not like some bad sipik clones bluish light.

I just received 3 of Six I ordered on April 23rd! They came in separate packages with no indication which of the sellers came through - and they're all 3-mode as ordered. I also found the quality to be a little better this time around. They actually cut the threads nicely and may even have put a little grease on them. (Then lens does fall out easily though - (if you take the front off)

Note that the prices are back up to $56.76. My guess is they're out of stock again - or else someone decided to spike their green tea with a psychedelic.

Welcome to BLF, Pherra!
