Yep, saw them over there. The Mag85 was the first build I ever did, many years ago. I wish I had kept it.
I take the switch out and then I take a flat head screwdriver and slip it under the snap ring (at one of the two tapered ends) and I pry it away from the body and push down, till the end starts to come out of the groove and keep pushing till the whole ring comes out and falls out through the body.
thats good to know… 2 of the builds i did i ended up soldering wires to the switch then soldering the drop in wires to those when they poked through… i wasnt sure if the little retainer ring would scratch coming out or if the switch would make negative contact, but in the future now i know! thanks
should be fine, i used heavy copper 16ga wire, so a little bit extra wire should be no problem
That is some serious output you’ve been toying with. Love it
From the read it seems you havent really encountered any bigger problems with the mods which may encourage others.
Sweet mods. Have fun.
the only issue i had was that i may have used too much wire since i couldnt get the mag retaining ring out so i had to solder wire to the switch, drop it in, then solder that to the teflon wires on the dropins/or sockets
i dont think that will be an issue since its only like an additional 3 inches of wire and i used 16 guage copper braided wire.
plus its not like im pulling 10 amps lol
9 amps on the sst90 but thats after the buck driver
