A lot of peoples, inclued me, claim, that protected one, the cheap one, is to large for some lights…

the wrapper on these "black panas" s*ck. it has to be the same plastic wrapper quality as XTAR batteries. the wrapper becomes brittle after a few months and BREAKS.

the "transparent panas" wrapper is thicker and softer, seems like. should last much longer. i heard from people who dismantled them that the transparent wrapper is of really good quality.

i will never again buy XTAR cells. their black wrapper is cheap stupid ****.

yes, the transparent panas are long cells. at least 69.50mm. some up to 69.99mm ;)

I dont know what are you doing with your XTARS, but my 1.5 year old xtar 2600er are still fine

:shy:

A lot companies use black wrapper: AW, Keeppower, Eagletac, XTAR, Orbtronic, Callie's Kustoms. I have only 2 XTAR 2600mAh (for about 1,5-2 years - group buy here in the forum) and they look good.

Maybe you get a bad pair or XTAR use a better quality at the beginning.

i got the same neg experience with black wrapper of Eagletac 18650.

maybe it's the dry air around me. same happened to the black rubber of my chinese pinpon bats. the stuff ages, loses its flexibilizers, gets dry, brittle and breaks.

i will report how well the transparent wrappers survive in my dry environment.

never mind peace

Black = 68.5 mm
Clear = 69.7 mm

1.2 mm really makes a difference?

It make a difference… Trust me…

Some solarforce had a little room…

Out of the two of the above that i have in host xm-l direct drive these r the only ones that trip the pcb,the sanyo 2600 18650f,xtar 2600 18700 do not trip .Dont really know why.

Can these Panasonic protected flat-tops be used in in-line series?

Look like it does… But I am not sure… Mine intl-outdoor that look like this one do.

The ones you have from Hank is a ‘wide’ flat-top that has a slight protrusion on the (+) end to make contact with the (-) end of the next cell?

Yeap… But I think not enought to work in serie…

Does meanwhile already got someone these black wrapped Panasonic? Are they good? I’m thinking about ordering some pieces, because they are way shorter then the others

I cant toll you for sure that they are good, but, if you treated with care like any other battery you cant worry about it…
