3A 1 cell driver

Anyone got a spare 3A single or multimode driver for a 1D Maglight well 2 if you have 2  need ASAP.

Hang on, you’re asking for a driver that will deliver ~10 Watts from >1.5v? Friend, there have been threads about this and I don’t believe such a beast exists or is even possible. Think about it. To drive a XM-L you need 3-3.4v across the emitter. So already, the driver would need to double voltage at least (2.13x to be precise). So to give the emitter 1 amp, factoring in a 20% loss through the driver itself, the driver would need to draw 2.66 amps off of a single fresh D cell. Even for a D cell that’s alot. To deliver the 3 amps you desire, from one Alkaline, the driver would have to pull almost 8 amps off the single D-cell. Even if a D-cell could deliver that load, it would surely explode from the heat and stress. I doubt even a NiMH D-cell could do that.

A 32650 is not much bigger than a single D-cell. Get one. Cut a couple coils off the springs in your light, and just use a normal 3040mA 105C.

Sorry I should have mentioned the 1D mag will be powered with a 32650 Feilong 6000mAh battery fresh off the charger  and the 2D are now cut down and re threaded ready for the new driver as the driver I had in there was 5-18v so won’t work on the 1D cell now.

I have ordered a few from HK but I now face a long 3-6 week wait and was hoping someone in the UK has 1 or 2 spare.

Yeah, that would have helped.

I don’t have any drivers to offer, but what size do you need? Asking for a ‘maglite driver’ is horrifically vague as mags don’t use drivers and any driver fitted to a mag goes in either an aftermarket or custom housing.

I mentioned Maglite and it has already been modified with a H22A Heatsink and a XML Led and mentioned in the Thread modes not important 1-8 Mode something like this ….> lck-led.com - Informationen zum Thema lck led.

Before the Lathe got to them and changed from King Kong 4000mAh batteries to the Feilongs without the tube and I found it easier to sink the spring into the tail cap after the anodising was removed.

Please don’t all shout at once

I’ve got a q-lite from IO if its of any use?

Hi could I have some more details specs etc and a link to the driver if possible and a price you want.

I was thinking that if I send you the driver, you could send me a replacement in the new year?

That way you can complete your project before Christmas

Hi and thankyou for the kind offer and I have never shopped with that store before so replacement of that driver might be a problem but I would certainly buy it from you whatever it cost you including shipping.
