These normally sell for over $150 and been discontinued as 5.11 moves away from the capacitor powered lights to more traditional sources and XML emitters.

These are great little lights and popular with police and fire. I have the big brother and really like it. Their main selling point is the 90 second charge with run time of an hour. Only rated at 200 lumens peak, so don’t be looking for a high power thrower (remember lights are more than just lumens). These are great if you need a good reliable light and the fast recharge really makes the light standout. Main downside to these is they don’t hold a charge reliably for more than a week, so this isn’t going to make a good backup light.

If you pick one up, also look at the AC adapter for home use, only $9 http://www.511tactical.com/All-Products/Closeouts/AC-Adapter-for-Light-For-Life-PC3300.html

Hah, ultracapacitor instead of the cell. Very nice feature.

Flashlight is ugly as hell, in my opinion.

Here is some info on the D-sized Ultracaps

And the datasheet

These are not toys, and can cause serious damage if used improperly. I am not responsible for anything that happens if you look, smell, touch or think about these.

Wow, why have I never heard of lights using this tech before, or since? 90 sec to charge to full?

I’m going to have to read up on these ultra-capacitors.

Wal-mart carried these for a while?

Yeah the ultra capacitors are some amazing technology.

30 sec to charge for 10 min of runtime, you’d need two or three to to anything other than handing out speeding tickets.
