7200 glue?

Hello and hoping everyone will have a great New Year.

I’m thinking about buying some magnetic rings from Simon to glue into the tail caps of my S2+ lights.

The website says “You have to use glue to fix it ,for example ,ergo7200 glue” but I can’t find this glue. Can find 7000 but not 7200.

Any advice on this?

Thanks for any help.

That is a construction adhesive.
I read about these rings they fit nice and snugly, so it seems a lot of adhesive kit/montage kit would do the trick just fine.
I ordered one at banggood yesterday and are just going to use some montage kit I have laying around.

Just use clear silicone sealant. You won’t have any problem. It’s easy to work with, and if any excess oozes out where you don’t want it, it just peels or rubs off.

Ah thanks wouldn’t have thought of that!

If I were doing this I’d use SuperGlue. Less is better with this stuff, just a trace amount all round holds like stink. To remove it later remove any plastic or rubber parts and apply acetone (nail polish remover) which won’t harm metal or anodizing but will kill plastics and dissolves dried SuperGlue.

My other go-to glues are silicone, polyurethane (Liquid Nails, PL2000, etal), and ShoeGoo. If I need more holding power than silicone or ShoeGoo but want clear I go to “Lexel” caulking. It’s stiffer and messier but it holds about twice as well. It would do well here but I don’t know how to remove it (never tried). ShoeGoo would work as would silicone but gasoline (petrol) and it’s fumes can dissolve these and the bond is less but probably good enough. Woodworking glue is another story but not relevant here.

Thanks for the advice. I’m still wondering about the 7000 glue. It is available in small tubes with a fine tip and would be easy to apply in a tight space. Is anyone familiar with this 7000 glue?

Well I’m a bit intrigued myself now
Searching for 7000 vs 7200 glue I saw this as first result

Yes, they differ, if you scroll down there is a neat overview of the two.
It seems 7200 is less viscose and sets faster, making it easier to use in this situation.

After Phils inpot, I think I will use silicone, have tons of the stuf and it is easy to remove if needed.

Forget about that glue, you’re only sticking a magnet into a tube which isn’t a big deal at all.

Just use some standard epoxy that you get in 2 tubes from diy stores, you won’t need much and you can stick it in the draw for other projects. Just mix up a little and use a match stick or anything else around the right size to apply the expoxy inside the tube where the magnet will sit and then put it in place.

How much you need to use is dependent on how good a fit the magnet is in the tube.

The magnet is supposed to be fitted around the rubber top of the button not inside the tube.
I have read the ring sits nice and cosy and does fit tightly. However, one wants to be able to hang the torch upide down on the magnet so some glue is needed.

am I the only one using normal clear tape for friction fit magnets inside?
