a big thankyou to old lumens, jack the clipper, essexman and scaru.

Thanks to you guys and your brilliant lanyard threads, I am now knealt on my kitchen floor, sorting out a tangled web of paracord…….

On the flipside, I have only had one cig since the babies went to bed :8)

Not sure I helped that much. If you need any advice just say so. :)

Oh the tangled web we weave. LOL

Glad to see you are having fun!

Photos when you’re done.

I should clarify, the rats nest was a result of the ramains (60 meters or so) of a reel of paracord I bought for the guy lines on a cooking shelter project, the reel banged about in the back of my 4 x 4 till one end broke off and the cord exploded everywhere……

On finding your lanyard threads, I finally have a use for all that cord, but first, I had to untangle it…….

Anyway, I’ve done that, much to the amusement/chargrin of my girlfriend toni. I’ve then done a koppo weave (much much too short, but it did to get the technique, the video I followed used a plastic solarforce thing, I’m wrapping a trustfire t1). My problem is the video’s I found to do a lanyard knot are as clear as mud |( so for now its finished in a double figure 8 to keep the ends together. No photos yet as my phone is playing up, its dark, toni stated she’s getting worried about me when I did try to take a picture of my efforts and I picked my t1 up from the post office today and I’ve not yet operated the magic button in darkness

Any tips greatly received, its looking like a fun, cheap project while she watches big brother…

Tyingitalltogether on YouTube .

Also , look at Stormdrane's blog .

Cheers jack, I watched stormdrains video but his hand gets in the way at a crucial point. I’ll try his blog, a step by step guide maybe easier tbh, the videos are a bit fast

I am seeing everything in the house wearing a lanyard in a few weeks…… :8)

Soon enough you'll have a pile of lanyards waiting for a home.

Either that or a length of para cord wrapped round my neck because my new pass time has driven toni over the edge…… :*

Just a quick “where I’m up too” picture.

I need to use at least 8’ of paracord, the 4’–5’ is not nearly enough but at least I got the koppo weave something like, and I think the olive cord looks ok with a black light. Toni thinks I’m daft, ah well

Women are always right

That's my story ...and i'm sticking to it

Nice! You learned how to do that much faster than I did. Now you should try to make a Turks head. :p

Until I suss a lanyard knot, no more, once that’s figured out, then I may true a Turks head on another flashlight.

The koppo weave was incredibly easy to pick up, I’ll try and find the vid and post it up, I plan on it covering to the tail cap then a good lanyard on the tail cap end. 8)

Here are a few links that may help with the lanyard knot, gords. 1, 2, 3.

Lanyard knot is called the Diamond knot also. Same knot for both and it's called by other names as well.

I learned most everything from TIAT and some from Stormdrane

I found some of storm drains instructables…….

A new lanyard for my keyring and a successful lanyard knot, I’ve also re wound the koppo, just still not used enough paracord |( still, its all a learning curve, and I’m happy with tonight’s little forest into the world of decorative knots.

Nice works, Gords! I have the koppa weave on one of my lights and it’s great.

Cheers johnnymac, is there a weave for a single strand of paracord? I’ve looped it through my van key and sort of tied a lanyard knot in, so now I have two equal lengths to do something with, just struggling to find a single weave, the spiral ones look nice, but what am I looking for? Photos and or knot/weave names gratefully received

Cobra weave works well with 2 strands of equal length.

Yes, but it seems to be two separate stands, not a loop, or am I missing something? :8)

Good to see another Paracord manic in the UK. Glad to be of help, although I’m not sure what I’ve done to help!. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions.

RE - Girlfriend, she won’t be so fed up when you start selling lanyards and make a profit eh? Otherwise make her a paracord bikini, should keep her happy for the summer?
