A little less floody/more throw alternative to Wurkkos TS22?

Bought one maybe 1.5 months ago and received it in about 2 weeks in Sweden.

Really impressed, a powerful WALL of light! My plan was to use it on my bike for going to work and it worked just fine, but I found my Sofirn SC18 that I used in parallell had better reach, but together they were a nice combo!

Ordered a holster from Wurkkos that is on the way, but discovered the other day that I seem to have lost the TS22 somewhere… probably fell out of the not perfect size holster it stayed in when I rode home from work when the light wasn´t needed… hate losing things like that, especially when it´s so new…

But now to the question; I like floody lights but I kinda feel that I could have sacrificed a little flood for a little more throw, now when I “have to” either buy a new TS22 or something else… But I still would like a 21700 light at around the same pricepoint.

Tips welcome!

I kinda came back to the flashlightworld again, sold my old Zebralight SC600 and got the TS22 instead. The SC600 felt just a wee bit underwhelming in comparison… had hardly used it for years. But the buildquality is non-comparable of course, the SC600 is a tank!

Sounds like you want a Sofirn SP35.

Wurkkos WK15. A bit more throw and less flood with a 21700 cell.

Sorirn SP35T. 21700 cell, but with even less flood and a bit more throw than the WK15.

Fitorch EA25. Similar to SP35T but with slightly less throw.

Thanks for the tips, the SP35T def looks like an option too.

Sooo many nice options… hard to choose…

Just checked the EA25, looks nice but not an alternative for $75… more than twice the money… this is BLF…

Keep in mind the SP35T is a bit of a different animal than the SP35.

The original SFT43 version wasn’t well-received, and while they fixed that with the XHP50, it still lacks the nicer driver that the SP35 (and TS22) has.

And I’d characterize the SP35/SST40 biased more toward the thrower side of the scale, compared to a typical general purpose light.

If, on a theoretical five-point scale, with balanced, general purpose equating to zero, the TS22’s pure flood and no hot spot might rate a -5, while the SP35 would be a +2.

Tread appropriately.

Here are some (theoretical) throw and beam angles (to 50% beam intensity) for some of the lights to consider.

Wurkkos TS22 - throw 191 m; beam angle ~ 46°

Wurkkos WK15 - throw 218 m; beam angle ~ 33°

Sofirn SP35 - throw 332 m; beam angle ~ 17°

Sofirn SP35T - throw 280 m; beam angle ~ 29°

Fitorch EA25 - throw 250 m; beam angle ~ 29°

I would think the Wurkkos WK15 might be the best choice, as it has a bit more throw and less flood than the Wurkkos TS22.

Sofirn SP35 has a very tight beam and is more of a spotlight or thrower, and I don’t believe this light would be suitable in this case.

Yes, the Fitorch EA25 is relatively expensive, but the Sofirn SP35T is cheaper with similar beam angle but throws a bit further than the EA25.

EDIT: other lights of possible interest -

Wuben A21 - throw 222 m; beam angle ~ 37°

Acebeam EC65 - throw 258 m; beam angle ~ 32°

Olight Seeker 2 Pro - throw 250 m; beam angle ~ 30°

The Acebeam EC65 might be difficult to find now, and it might be relatively expensive(?)
