I don’t know if this has been posted before, but I just saw it. Literally laughed out loud at it. Don’t lie, some of you have done some of this. Own up to it. BTW, I’m pretty sure this isn’t HKJ. Like 20% sure.
I am not that silly, it is very seldom I get an electric jolt.
I do use isolation transformer with most of my test and all equipment is connected to an earth fault breaker. My 5000 volt tester is battery powered and I do not touch the device or wires when testing.
I do not post pictures of my lab, but some of my equipment can be seen here: http://lygte-info.dk/info/myLabSetup%20UK.html
It happens, but with years between and not enough to knock my back. The last one was testing one of the usb power supplies, when I opened it the capacitors was not fully discharged and I accidental placed a finger over the pins.
Today, if you get a jolt through the body, you are usual supposed to go to the hospital for a checkup.
Ha ha, you’re doing better than me. On my local river is an electric fence running along the top of the bank to prevent the cattle getting too close. While fishing there last week i managed to touch it three times .I sounded like the guy in the video
I was born out in the country where I did test a few electric fences, but long time ago I moved to the city and have not seen an electric fence since (Except when visiting the country).
Funny, but I wonder if this is faked? Some You Tube videos are for sure faked in order to get attention.
Maybe HKJ should have a picture on his web site of himself covered in plasters, bandages, and burn cream, as a joke. (I think we all assumed he was a careful safe worker given the meticulous high quality reviews.)
HKJ, I hope you know that I was just joking. You are our resident testing guru and are very meticulous and detailed, hence the irony of saying it could potentially be you.
As for electric fences, I grew up on a farm and I’m quite familiar with inadvertently testing them out as a kid.
In regards to capacitors, I’ve build homemade game cameras using regular point and shoot digital cameras. I will assure people that if you accidentally touch the flash capacitor before draining it, it will light you up and pieces go flying in the air and a string of expletives get released. I will also openly admit to burning myself more times than I can count with the soldering iron.
