A new Work light - at last!

As you porbably have noticed, I talk and lot a buy stuff pretty rarely...

Today I got my L2T at last, this is going to replace my previous work light.

L2m (extended) was in operation for about 3 years, with high rate of abuse, dirt, throwing, dropping and lending to people.

No issues. Worked so well, that my mate at work offered to buy it just for the reason - reliability!

To tell something, it had "all corners round". Once I had to use pliers to make head round again to fit a bezel ring to it...

Sometimes it was even at places like this.

Worked overtime at maintaining a line, bad place but got good payment.

(BTW, choose Ingersoll-Rand before Bacho if you prefer airtools, that can take serious stress ;) )

Most of the time, I use it to inspect plates, searching for a press-printed marking by shadowing with light.

All-around surveillance of two lines etc like that. Flashlight is a priceless tool for me.

Here´s the new one:

Also my better houshold light, L2.

The old one when it was new. without extension:

But why L2T or P60 in general at first place? Bad throw, bad sink, old tech etc...

Well...

Form factor is perfect, ability to MAINTAIN, easiness of changing modules! Cigar grip and protruding clicky are absolute MUST for gloves on -operation.

Things I don´t need is long runtime or absence or thermal sag (99% of times it operates less than a minute at a time).

I look to about 10feet away with it, no need for throw either!

Cheap price and great quality, no need to mention them, they are obvious.

I ordered a Intl O´s 3 stage XM-L2 dropin for it, which has not arrived.

At this point, I installed a no-nonsense 1-mode Nichia @ ONLY 0.8A with OP-reflector.

Anyway, if you are still reading, you are allowed to participate in a host give away.

It is a generic 18650 flashlight without interior BUT it accepts P60 dropins.

It needs a dropin and a clicky mechanism. I bought it for only a few bucks in discount - will be shipped for free to anywhere.

This give away will expire soon, without further notice, be fast ;)

I’d be happy to take the host, like the silver a lot.

Edit: I would have also liked to see a picture of your beaten up p60, sounds like it went through a lot!

I’m in for the giveaway CheapThrills. The SF lights are one of my favorites, super quality for the price.

Too bad I did not take a pid before selling it…
Anyway as it was greenish, it does not show the wear of Ano so easily as a black one does.
A lot of dents and scratches anyway but still with original glass and CLICKY!

Cool story, but I wouldn’t do anything with the host so count me out. Good luck with the new light.

I too would love to have the host. I’ve never made a p60 dropin, but from what I’ve seen it looks like something I would enjoy very much.

Exactly that’s the main reason I like silver and non-black ano colours. They hold up so much better under abuse, black is really easily marked.

Is that old two way clip still available anywhere?

nope, they been gone quite a while... been looking for one myself.

nice story, glad to see it held up so well

Ok, thanks Pulsar

Congrats on the new light and thank you for the giveaway opportunity CheapThrills.

First time I get a reward for reading a post.

I´m in for the giveaway; I have some drop-ins sitting in my drawer, waiting for my own giveaway thread. It would be nice to put them together with a host
EDIT: now i realize i won those drop-ins in your giveaway, so i think i must be out this time to give others the chance

+1

Congrats on your new work light !

I must admit, that I really use my lights with care, never dropped on of my SF so far, they’re all like new.
On the other hand, I solely use them in my freetime, not at work.
(Even if I would use them at work, they probably don’t get beaten up when used in an office enviroment like mine.)

Please count me out for the giveaway.

In, please. Just happen to have made an extra P60 that needs a home.

I’m in too.

p60s are my favorite lights because of the form factor and the fact they are so versatile. With some added copper here and there, you can actually get the drop-ins to transfer heat quite well. My L2T is my favorite light right now.

Please count me in too! I’ve never owned a solarforce before but its definitely high up on my wish list. Reading your post just confirms the quality of the hosts. Will get one after coming out of my currently tight budget. Thanks Cheapthrills!

Thanks for the story, I do not use p60 lights much at all (my lights do not get treated very roughly) so I'm not in for the giveaway.

Congrats on the new light !!! I have always wanted to build a light myself with these p60 dropins, so please count me in.
