A review of the Monkey's Butt Flashlight by Ferei. (Mini 500) price $109 (39% off)

Ok this is my review of the Mini 500 Ferei AA/14500 flashlight AKA the monkey's butt.

It gets it's affectionate nickname from the tailcap that resembles a baboons back side. As can be seen in the pictures on Lightinthebox's site. Mine came with a replaced tailcap that was just black. :tired:

The Good: it's black.

The Bad:

Price; it's just a little overpriced.

The emitter: It was actually an MX and fried the second I put a 14500 in it. Well actually that isn't quite true I forgot that the switch fried first. Then when I bypassed the switch and made it a twisty the emitter went seconds later.

Does not tailstand:

No monkey's butt (maybe not a bad thing really)

Glued together: hence the pliers scratches from me ripping the head off to put an emitter in. It now has a de-domed XML T6

The Size: for a AA it's rather large.

The average, the lens is average, the heatsinking is average, the lanyard is average, the finish is average.

Conclusion.

I didn't really pay $109 dollars and it didn't come from lightinthebox. I paid $2.99 cents off of e-bay and that was refunded when I told them that it should never have been listed as accepting a 14500 battery when clearly it was not meant for one. So free host but no monkey Butt.

Overall star rating 1 star out of 5 and only because I didn't actually pay any money for this Monkey's butt of a light.

$109....what am I missing here?

awe come on, the monkey butt switch is the selling point of that light. when your having a bad day you can just poke at the switch and have a good giggle

This was a review? Sounds like you need to follow ChibiM's new thread! :)

Ah, you were in the midst of the review. Sorry! Good enough review for this butt light!

I thought this was a joke from the title!

Hit save when I meant to hit Input format to post the picture. So it posted a little before it was finished.

I was actually a little bummed out. Not that I expected a $100 light but I thought it would at least be decent, maybe even like a Fenix if I was lucky.

Hmm, so far it sounds like this is called a “monkeybutt” flashlight because thats how you’d feel paying $109 for it…
