a short introduction

Hi everyone !

I’m nikanon and the flashlight-virus just break out again.

Everything started nearly one year ago, when I was on the hunt for a flashlight suited for lightpainting.
(Now you know another hobby of mine, photography.)

I stumbled over Solarforce and the very nice Lego-system but decided to stay with AA or Eneloops at this time and so I purchased a L2r with XPG-R5 drop-in together with the 4 colored lens replacements.

Right after that, I decided that I definitely need an EDC light, so I purchased an ITP A4 Eos and I’m still in love with it.

Short after that, me and a friend of mine headed out for a first light painting session with the new equipment.
The results where not that spectacular, but it was great fun as always.
After the second photo trip my friend was absolutely amazed by the power of modern flashlights and so he told me to purchase another Solarforce for him, I ordered a L2 with 3-mode Xm-L with charger and some 18650s and it blew me away, that (!) was a massive output of light.

The flashlight virus fell asleep and I lived happily ever after, but a few days ago it breakout again, with massive consequenses.
I felt ready to switch to 18650 to gain more output and furthermore got into contact with someone (also a member of BLF) who will build me my first semi-custom drop-in.
I stick with Solarforce so far, but had a glance on other wonderful flashlights for shure, this forum may become my ruin. :bigsmile:

What I like about BLF:
It’s the whole atmosphere, when I do my researches in other forums (national, international) I often stumbled over weird comments when an absolute rookie (in flashlight terms) asked for advise.
Never saw something like this here, so my decision was easy.

I want to share some results of the light painting trips with you, I hope it’s not a violation of the forum rules if I use BBCode from my flickr page.

Edit:
It seems not to work properly, I guess I’ll take a look at the froum guidelines.

kind regards

Welcome to BLF! Here your picture is.

well c*m on BFL!!

best, kreisl (the unofficial ***k on the forum. hehe)

Welcome to BLF. Check out user the’s work.

Stay away before its to late. This site is cursed. It will send you broke, have you speaking strange languages, and your friends will want to put you away. Its not to late. Flee now.

Welcome, this forum is so friendly, you can pretty much post what you want bar religion, politics or outright rude stuff. Nothing’s moderated and I’m sure a lot of us here would love to see the pics so post away :slight_smile:

Welcome abroad!

I love photography too!

So…. you shoot Nikon or Canon? haha

Cheers! :beer:

Welcome to BLF fellow lightpainter! You'll love being here!

Hi nikanon, its nice to have you here.

Welcome to the forum where diversity rules.

Welcome to BLF, nikanon!

Thank you very much for the warm welcome !

@scaru:
THank you for putting the pic up, I still experience difficulties if I wanna do it myself.

I found this thread but it doesn’t work as described, on the other site I dont want to mess around with imageshack, tinypic and so on.

So I quoted your post and looked up the correct code and then changed the url, a little bit unconvenient this way.
But it works for now (still not with my flickr stuff).

I used the SF L2 with XM-L for this shot:

@MRsDNF:

I guess it’s too late ! :cowboy_hat_face:

@ryansoh3:

Hehe you got me.
I shoot a Canon digital body and an analog Yashica body.

cheers everyone

Edit:

I guess I managed it:

SF L2r with different lenses and ITP A4 EOS:

Welcome to the forum, and very cool photos.

I wasn't able to get flickr to work. In order for it to work you need a link that takes you to a page with just the image on it. To post that image for you I just screenshotted it and then uploaded it to tinypic.

Thank you Chicago X !

@Scaru:

That’s what I figured.
I’m able now to use my flickr photos without any problems, it’s just more complex, but the image quality is definitely worth the hassle.

Welcome to your new home, nikanon!
