A Special Edition of the Sofirn SR23 for the german "TLF" (Taschenlampen-Forum) and the BLF...

Hi Girls and Guys.

I’m from Germany and I had the idea in my stomach and head to choose the Sofirn SR23 as new “TLF-LAMP” for 2026.

Our last Forums-Flashlight is more than a year ago (it was the golden Wurkkos WK03 IN 2024).
Now it is the right time for a new TLF-Flashlight.

The built-quality of the SR23 is great, the flashlight isn’t too expensive and with the triple-emitter (and the UV-light) it is really practical.
It has a boost-driver for the main light, the UI with the two switches is really good and it uses a 21700 Li-Io-battery.

So I contacted Sofirn to ask if it would be possible to build this flashlight for us (I think we’re nearly 60 persons who’re interested in the SR23 as TLF-Flashlight).
Sofirn told us that we’d need more people, so I had the idea to ask here in the BLF, if members are interested in a collaboration with us, so we can bring together the idea of the SR23 as Forums-Flashlight to reality.

It would be a combinated “TLF/BLF-Flashlight 2026” if you’re interested…Sofirn needs much people which are interesred in of it to build it.

The BLF would bringt this Special Edition to Reddit, Google and so on.

We voted for a lot of things and communicated with Evan from Sofirn in Discord, so we already have a basic plan for Nichia 519A as LEDs for the main light and a filter for the UV-light.

What do all of you think about it?

20 Thanks

Great idea and thanks for coming here!

Do you have any other specs or improvements in mind over the stock SR23?

WB, Njoerch!

Yes, sure.

Nichia 519A in 4000K for the main light.
We think about a “glow in the dark” inner O-Ring.
Further we’re discussing a head made out of brass or copper (then with an Aluminium-battery-tube and tailcap or titanium instead of Aluminium), a full brass lamp / a full copper lamp and last about only another anodisation of the original SR23 … the favorit colors are here orange and violett.

Thank you.

If would also be possible to change the color of the rubber part, but most of our German members liked the black rubber best

Thanks for joining and help Hamstachen.

A TLF/BLF collaboration is a great idea, and so is dropping in the Nichia 519A. Such a shame the 4500K is to be discontinued. They’re so easy to de-dome it gives the option for people to go warmer if they want to, I feel my 4500K dedomed Emisar D3AA is too yellow for outdoors and maybe I’d go higher to 5000K.

Never tried the stock 4000K so just my 2 pence/cents. We have enough trouble discussing and deciding things here as it is, and now there’s another whole forum to add to the mayhem :joy::rofl::joy:

2 Thanks

Yeah…it will break our brains.:rofl:

Take my Money!
Git er done.
Have 2 TLF lights now and love them both.

I’d be interested in one of these lights

I’m also interested in one of these lights. Provided it keeps the silicon grip area and it gets a UV-filter.

I am interested but can you give more details into what exactly makes this special edition different from the normal one? Is it the 519A emitters + UV filter?

The Silicon Grip will be there.

We plan another anodisation (or material if we’re enough ppl for it), serial numbers and “TLF/BLF EDITION 2026” on it.

1 Thank

OK so here is the plan for the TLF:

-Body made from Aluminium with violet anodisation.
-Black Bezel.
-Black Clip.
-Black silicon part at the handle.
-Nichia 519A in 4000K for the main LEDs.
-Serial Numbers for every flashlight
-Signed with “TLF/BLF EDITION 2026”
-Fliter for the UV LED.

How do you think about it?

Welcome Njoerch

Great initiative. I’m not keen on warm light though. The rest is great. Thank you.

After some review reading left and right I get the impression that 5000K is THE neutral light in the range.

2 Thanks

We can change from 4000K to 5000K or 5700K if needed.

We only need enough people which want the same thing.

1 Thank

Sounds great! Thank you very much for this initiative. Please count me in as a buyer of 1.
