…seen em all, got em all, and then some.
That is one sweet knife! Thanks for sharing. :)
That is one good looking folder
Very cool knife!
I love large folders. Have been trying to find this one to buy, but the $295 price for the ebay listing is just too much.
Heck of a steal. If you have any interest in selling it let me know.
Boy! Everyone seems to like this knife. When I posted this, I really was prepared for a lot of negative comments such as silly, goofy,…“as seen on TV with free dice-o- matic.
Obviously, the size of the blade limited the size of the market, and the design can’t be adapted to a smaller bade because the handle would become too small.
To be honest, I was skeptical when I first came across this knife and was still unsure when I hit the “Buy” button. It has never failed to impress anyone I’ve showed it to.
While we all like the design Benchmade only produced the LFK for a short time and has never made another knife like it. I wonder if there were durability issues w/ the retractable liner? If you look through the Benchmade discontinued products there’s a scattering of various discarded design ideas that didn’t pan out.
Actually, the LFK was produced for any number of years. That’s pretty good for a knife with a smaller exclusive market. Once that market is sated, it’s unprofitable to continue further production, and another new model will take its production space.
I’ve never heard of a problem with the mechanism. It’s a simple rod attached to the blade. Because of its size, the market is small. Europe is out, as are a lot of states. It’s was branded with the Harley Davidson Logo also, so all the bikers already have theirs.
It remembers me the Enlan el08… a bit.
A very unusual ugly knife. Fixed that for you
Ouchy,
You’re correct, the original LFK was released in ’07, the HD version in ’11. Not sure of the discontinue dates, looked at the page coding and didn’t find a posting date.
BTW, you say you have many BM models. Do you know which models used the Rolling Lock w/ Indraft? I see it listed in the BM mechanisms but I did not find any models listed using that system.
Xatu,
Thanks for the clip-side pic. First time I’ve seen the EL-08 from that side. Did not know it had a lock stabilizer.
It’s not at all Gurthang. Yes, it has a lock stabilizer and i have one EL-08, it’s a beast, stronger feeling than the famous enlan el01.
